I have finally completed the first chapter of a series that promises
to give me a lot of gray hairs. Any and all c&c is highly appreciated
(reply privately if possible KMurasaki@hotmail.com) and thanks will be
returned promply.

A considerably large crowd had shown up by the time I came out of the
main hall. Swallowing the pain in my shoulder, I made my way through
it, where I had assumed Usagi and the others were. I guessed
correctly; there were surrounded by nurses and faculty, grilling them
with question after question. When I became visible, they attempted to
switch victims, but the nurses shooed them away, tending to my wound.
" Are you guys okay? " I stammered."
Usagi nodded, and Makoto followed, though her expression
suggested otherwise. " Yeah, the nurse says that she won't be able to
walk for a day or two though. How about you; are you allright?"
Now before I continue, let me draw your attention to something for a
minute. I am not anything close to a fearless hero. I'm far from a
coward, but I don't do the leap through the ragging inferno for the
kitty thing. I guess you could follow the nurse's later explanation of
loss of a lot of blood, but I keep in shape, and that wouldn't affect
much. But here I am, a semi-bookworm, and I just dispatched a very
lethal creature that could have shredded me like paper. My mind and
body did the next logical thing for someone not used to such a
close-up on action of that level.
I nodded weakly, and passed out.

Makoto looked frantically at the limp body that fell in her lap. "
Kenji?!"
The nurse made a quick check of him, and chuckled. " He just
lost a little blood and it made him light-headed. That and the
excitement; he'll be okay."
" Oh my hero," Makoto deadpanned. The nurse laughed harder,
and asked for help getting the injured to her office. Ami and Minako,
who had just arrived, pitched a hand in. When they made it in, the
nurses left to get some ointment; leaving the girls alone with the
sleeping Kenji. " What happened?" Ami asked.
" Well, I don't know much, just that Kenji and I walked in on
Usagi being ambushed by that thing."
" That's about the way it happened," Usagi added, " I was at
my locker when that cat-thing jumped me."
" Why didn't you use your broach?" the girls asked in unison.
" I didn't have it; it was in my locker. And I didn't want to change
in front of it after what it said."
"Usagi" Minako started.
" I know I know, but I didn't have time to"
" Wait," Ami interrupted, " Usagi, what did it say?"
Usagi gulped, " It knew I was the Moon Princess." The others
looked at her in astonishment. " It also had a black crescent moon
mark, except like mine, not upside down."
" A new enemy?" Makoto wondered.
" And it was specifically after you, and knew where you were"
Ami commented, half in thought.
" I have a bad feeling about this." Minako said

I awoke to my shock and every man's dream: a female's bedroom.
I didn't know which girl in specific, but some things hinted me as to
the gender. For one, the posters in my room did not display 98
Degrees, the Backstreet Boys, the Starlights, and some other pop
groups I didn't recognize. The second thing was the panties, bra, and
fuku thrown in a pile rather casually. The third was the color scheme:
not stereotypically female, but leaning that way. The fourth, and most
obvious, was the high-pitched humming coming from the shower.
That particular thought hinted me to something else: I was
exceedingly drafty for someone who's supposed to be wearing a uniform.
I looked down and noticed my nakedness, and did my second wild take of
the day. My temperature dropped another twenty degrees when the shower
sounds suddenly stopped, and the ruffling began.
I began to scramble for the sheets, as my body's second brain
and morbid curiosity wouldn't let me leave the bed. The last minute
pleads from the logic center proved useless as she entered the room.
She, to what I could tell, looked to be in her thirties; with
a healthy figure, and scantily wrapped, fuzzy-pink bathrobe, hinting
to her cleavage, and showing her long, slim legs up to her upper
thigh. Her dark green hair was matted to her hair, and her scarlet
eyes gave me no end of worry, as they seem to peer into my soul in an
attempt to dissect me. She also looked rather confused. She looked
around the room, then at me, and her face scowled intently.
" Who are you?" I finally managed to ask. She only shook her
head in response, and sat at the edge of the bed. " Do you remember
the monster that you fought?" I did my best to draw my attention from
the garment slipping from her shoulder, and a warm blanket made its
way into my mind, making me capable enough to nod. I shook my head
clear of the cobwebs and focused on her.
" Who are you?" I asked a little more urgently. She answered with a
question of her own. " What was the monster like?"
The suppressing warmth came back again as I fought for control. " It
was feline, and the size of a dog. It also had this funny black
crescent on its forehead." The fog lifted again, and I thought long
enough to put two and two together. " Who the hell are you, and how
are you drugging my mind?!"
The woman starred at me for a moment, then shrugged a shoulder
on her robe, showing more cleavage and skin as the garment slid off.
My brain went into a struggle from three different areas for control:
lust, logic, and the la-la land she was attempting to enforce on me
again. A shaky agreement on an outer reaction was finally achieved
though: I caught a nosebleed.
The woman, who seemed in a trance of her own, shook her head
and covered her shoulder in haste. She then put her hand to her head
and began grumbling something I'll tell you about when you get older.
" This is getting nowhere," she sighed.
" Maybe it would if you told me who you are," the logical part
of me spoke up, " where you're from, and what's your cup size." I
covered my mouth and swore silently, " I mean why you're asking me all
of these questions."
She smirked at both remarks, and got up. " Maybe another time
young one, I have other things to attend to at the moment." She closed
her eyes, and vanished into thin air. I shrugged it off, hoping it to
be a really bad effect of staying up to finish that story.

Meiou Setsuna rubbed her temples in the earnest. That was a
technique she hadn't employed in centuries, and forgotten how
complicated and straining it could be, though that wasn't the cause of
her migraine. The kid was not only barely cooperative, but also
actually showed resistance to the mindscape technique. That only meant
that he had a talent for the technique itself.
And then that kid's stupid dream intervened with her work. She
would never lose so much emotional control at something like this, but
what that kid's mind made her do was frustrating to no end. It also
guarantied that she would be taking a cold shower soon.
She took a look at his file again. Everything about him was
there textbook style, but why would she have not known about him to
interfere with what happened earlier? Why hadn't she been able to see
what had occurred until it had happened? Something was very wrong with
this situation, and it gave her a familiar feel about it. She wished
the feeling were good.

I slowly came out of my dream, disoriented to say the least. My entire
head felt as if it were splitting to the chiming of the bells on Notre
Dame. That had been yet another thing I could add to the " bad day"
category for the day. I wanted to contemplate further on exactly what
was that dream and the attack was about, but the headache kicked that
idea out of my head, as well as stifling a groan from my lips.
" Kenji-san? Are you awake?"
The voice was only faintly familiar, and not from the distant
past as my reasoning told me. I narrowed down the people I had just
recently met, got frustrated, and just opened my eyes. Ami was looking
down at me, a relieved expression on her face. " Oh good, we were
starting to worry."
" Where am I?" I asked.
" School nurse's office. You passed out after checking on
Usagi and Mako-chan," Minako spoke up.
"Where are they?"
" Mako-chan helped Usagi home about an hour ago. She's outside
getting some water." She took a breath. " Are you okay Kenji?"
"Yeah, I guess. That thing didn't take anything major, just
nicked me."
" Oh really?" Makoto said, walking in the room, and abruptly
poking me in the bandaged shoulder. " Ite!! That hurt Mako-chan!"
" That's the idea," she shot back, " What's the deal stopping
me from trashing that thing?"
" Look, I just didn't want to lose the edge we had. That thing
was too focused on Usagi to notice us, and I was going to use that
against him." I took a breath, " Besides, what made you think you
could charge in headlong like that without some serious repercussions?
What if it actually turned on us?"
She answered rather confidently, " I would have kicked it into
the next week!"
I shook my head. There was no use to continue the argument,
she obviously believed she could take that thing on barehanded. " Well
then I'm sorry. Next time that happens, I'll let you handle it your
way."
"Nani?" she asked, caught completely off guard.
" Well you don't expect that thing to just sit around licking
its wounds do you? It wasn't like the other monsters in this town;
they go after energy and stuff like that. That thing was specifically
after her; it said so itself. It's gonna be back."
" You mean it spoke to you?" Ami asked.
I nodded without too much trouble. " Yeah, it was cussing at
me like I interfered with a mission, or at least that's the conclusion
I came to." I sighed, and checked my watch. " Woah, I was under that
long? I have to go get my sister."
" Wait a minute hotshot," Minako said, pushing me back into my
sitting position, " You're in no condition to move, the nurse said you
lost too much blood to even be walking straight."
" That's right, you should give yourself another minute to
rest," a new voice said, " I'm sure that one of your friends here will
get her, won't you ladies?"
I began to sweat at this moment. " Really, that's okay. I have
to go myself anyway. No one else is allowed to get her except my
guardian and I." The nurse shot me a concerning glance, while the
others, especially Makoto, just looked confused.
" Well, if I didn't read you file, I'd turn that down, but I
guess you're right." Her glance hardened slightly, " But you are still
not going alone. One, or all of you has to go with him."
Makoto spoke up before Minako, " I'll take him guys, you get
to Usagi's house and check on her, okay?"
Both girls looked at her, understanding from one, resentment
from the other. " Okay, We'll call you later then." Ami said.
" Take care Kenji-kun!" Minako said, pulling me into another
one of her suffocating hugs, and then bounced out the door, Ami right
behind her.

" Is it just me, or does he seem to give a different
impression from the rest of the ' kami-sama it's a monster run!'
people around here?" Minako spoke up after they exited the building.
" He really does, and he's observant as well. It looks like he
figured out a lot more about the monsters in this city than everyone
else." Ami paused for a minute, " But that still brings it back to our
main problem: What was that, and where did it come from?"
" Gee, and I thought we we're actually going to get some peace
around here," Minako said glumly.
" Not until this is solved, " Ami said, then pulled her
computer. " I'm going to check the scene for any clues that could aid
us. You go ahead and get to Usagi's, and call Rei."
" Are you sure? What if that thing comes back?"
The girl looked thoughtful for a moment, then dismissed it. "
Kenji had the right idea, but I don't think it would show up again in
the same spot." She flashed her henshin rod, " Besides, it's not like
I'm helpless. I'll catch up with you later, okay?"
The girl nodded, and they went their separate ways.
