Taking this into account, an idea popped into my mind. What if I 
replaced Akane with Ami of Sailor Moon, and how would she react to 
having Ranma as her finacee? In this fusion, Ami is NOT Sailor 
Mercury, and will never be. This is Ranma 1/2, and Senshi do not 
exist.

Pity.  How would Ranma react if he found out his fiancee was a senshi?

Or if Ranma was a foot soldier from the Silver Millenium who happened 
to have had a crush on Mercury, and got caught in the backwash of the 
reincarnation wave.

But Ami does know some martial arts. Hmm...

Oh dear...  I do like the story, though.
