Please excuse this if it's too horribly off-topic...
One realized tonight that one's throwing out a number of fics simply
because one can't read them for all the weird smartquotes, which show
up as escape sequences like \223 in one's mail client.
Then one realized that one could fix them on one's end of the pipe.
bakaquote is perfect if you meet three criteria:
1) You're running Linux, or another unix variant with GNU Flex.
2) You have your mail filterted by procmail.
3) You trust the code of somebody who habitually speaks of themselves
in the third person.
Anyway, the source is at either
http://www.waxwolf.com/pub/programs/bakaquote.tar.gz or
ftp://waxwolf.com/pub/programs/bakaquote.tar.gz . Instructions are in
the README file.
And thank all of you for writing fics that are worth going to the
trouble of writing this to read. Especially those of you who didn't
make one have to. ]:^)
