Who can come up with any explanation for goddess' markings?

The only explaination that makes sense is artistic license. Belldandy's
forehead marking wouldn't look good on her cheeks, now would they? On the
other hand, the other goddesses' marks look equally suited on their cheeks
or foreheads.
