I think someone once posted the name of the real Nordic Goddess of Love.
Does anyone remember it?

   As I have been studying mythology for nigh on 18 years, i can safely say
that there was no one, single goddess of love. If you mean Romantic Love, it
was Freyja, whose necklace Brisangamen made her the most desirable of all
goddesses. Sigyn was the ultimate expression of wifely love, standing by Loki,
who had betrayed even her, collecting a serpent's venom so it would not drip on
his imprisoned form. And, Frigga was motherly love, who loved even Thor and
Loki, neither of which were her sons, but either adopted, or Odin's son by a
giantess (for such was Thor). In a way, they were yet another triad found in
Norse mythology.
