Well, I'm back from my two-week vacation from the real world. I thought I'd
be using the time to writing fanfics, and I was only partially right. I
ended up writing, all right, but not all of it fanfics.
In the end, I ended up adding snippets here and there to my fics, but
nothing complete enough to post on the list just yet. For example, I have
finally taken Nobuyuki Muyo! back from Scriviner and have decided to write
it myself. This way, it'll be out sometime this month instead of sometime
this millenium. :P And that's only the First Cycle of the Sum of All Parts.
Egads, what have I gotten myself into?
Then there's the opening scene of Yen Town 6. I have no idea when the
complete part 6 will be out.
Then there's the first few sequences of What Wish 3. While the work done on
3 is already substantial, it still isn't fit to be posted yet. I hate this,
if you haven't noticed yet.
It's my fault, you know. I can only work on a fic when I'm struck by the
muse, and I think she takes a lot of naps. I guess when I was working on
Closing the Chapter she was cracking the whip - that kind of explains the
number of revisions on that thing.
Meanwhile, now that I have all these promising plots in store I think my
muse is overcome with option paralysis. I confused her. ^^; She's young,
she's impulsive.
At any rate, I can't promise when my works will be out. Hopefully it'll be
out by tomorrow, or the next few days.
So please bear with me. The mail has been coming in, particularly for the
next part of What Wish?, so I know people are getting impatient. It's
flattering, I must say, but I can't rush my writing or my muse. Sorry.
Oh, yeah, before I forget. A few comments on the deluge of mail I got since
I didn't set my FFML account on vacation while I was gone.
Note: Opinion, people. You disagree, respond privately. I'm just venting here.
I deleted around 95% of the stuff I got from the list. That's about 950
messages. Damn. I know you guys have some good stuff out there. I'm not
going to claim that 'the good old days were better' because they weren't.
I've been on for around three-and-a-half years now, and I know the 'golden
age' never really existed.
That doesn't mean it can't get better. We can either up the amount of
quality posts around her or we can reduce the spam. I know what a high
quality output list looks like - I was on Ronin and the FFML2 - which both
actually turned out pretty close to the mythical 'golden age'. (Strangely,
adversity brought out the best in everyone on the list at the time.) That
can happen here...
Or we can act like the list is unmoderated and we can post about our lousy
days and how our lives suck so no one else has the right to enjoy theirs
and we can take it out on each other.
But either way, hey, I'm still on the list. It's not like I'm leaving
because of some lack of a golden age or something.
Well, that's about it for now. Whew.
I'm going to try to wake up my muse now.

The one makes the other more acute, and then it cures it."
