was not its original intent?

<koff, koff>  There's a difference between the opinion of one woman - an
opinion stated at a time when she is trying to convince her daughter of
the righteousness of how she has been brought up - and reality.

                                3. You have a misconception of the engagement
deal. The deal was never spefically between Ranma and Akane, it was between
Ranma and any of the Tendou girls.

<nods>  And I explicitly stated that.  Now, whether Ami's *mother* has a
misconception of what "fiancee" means under such an arrangement is a
different question...
