Fair enough.  The first chapter moves rather slowly, I'll admit.  :)

Well, that's almost always the case with long running series... lots to
setup in the first chapter. I know my own Childhood of a Modern Dynasty
started a little slowly, but as much as I wanted to start with a larger
bang... you sometimes can't skip the foundation.
