Epilogue

Neo-Queen Serenity allowed her body to navigate its own way back to
the Royal Suite after Court. Her mind was busy puzzling over her
daughters' strange behavior of the past few days. Not that she wasn't
happy to see both her daughters spending time together; it was just
strange to see Usagi so openly affectionate towards Misako.
     <I suppose,> Neo-Queen Serenity mused, <that I shouldn't knock good
fortune. I've been after Usagi for a long time to be more interested in
what Misako does. Kami-sama knows Miko-chan looks up to her onee.> It
had been rather disappointing that Misako had only come back one time in
the past to visit. It was something a relief, however, for her youngest
daughter not to have been involved with the entire Helios affair, not to
mention the Starlights. <I know Endymion was happier that Misako wasn't
put into danger.> So was she for that matter but she couldn't openly
admit it. <She really missed Usagi when she was gone so long though.>
After another few minutes, Serenity arrived at the Royal Suite and
entered it. "Miko-chan! Usagi-chan!" Serenity called out as she pulled
on her slippers. She frowned slightly when there wasn't any response.
Walking down the hall to Usagi's room, she knocked on the door. When
there was no response, she moved on to Misako's room. Knocking a little
louder, she paused only for a moment before opening the door.
"Miko-chan? Usagi-chan?" Serenity called out as she looked around the
deserted room. <Where can they be?> Serenity wondered. <The guards
didn't say anything about them leaving.>
A little concerned now, Serenity left Misako's room and entered the
living room. She was just about to call out for the girls again when a
high-pitched squeal drew her attention. Walking over to the door that
led out into the private backyard, she blinked. "Na-ni?" Serenity
squeaked out. She, at first, didn't believe what she was seeing. There
were her children, or versions of her children. Both Misako and Usagi
seemed to have become much younger, maybe five or six at most. Both
little girls appeared to be soaked and muddy but having the time of
their lives.
Leaning against the wall, she watched through the window as the
game of Youma Catch finished with Misako scoring the winning shot. <That
was nice of Usagi letting Misako win like that,> Serenity thought as she
watched her eldest daughter go through an elaborate death scene. Her
heart warmed to see Usagi willing to go along with Misako in every way.
<You'd almost think that Misako won that game fairly the way Usagi's
putting on.> That was silly of course. Misako just wasn't THAT
aggressive.
Serenity couldn't help the sigh of mild exasperation that escaped
her lips when Misako and Usagi set about making snow angels. <Those two
are gonna need a bath,> Serenity thought, <Leave it to the weather to
warm up enough to make mud!> If there was one thing Misako loved, it was
mud. <I'm surprised she isn't trying to squish it between her toes,> she
giggled. <Strange, Usagi's getting so into it...>
Making snow angels abruptly ended when Usagi tossed a snowball
towards Misako and got her right between the eyes. Much to Serenity's
surprise, her youngest daughter didn't cry or protest. Instead, Misako
returned fire with a snowball of her own. This led to Usagi returning
fire and eventually a snowball fight ensued. Usagi seemed to have more
of a knack for firing snowballs than Misako did and pelted her sister
with five of them for every one that Misako managed to land on her
sister. She grew a wide smile as she watched her daughters play like the
little girls they now appeared to be.
Serenity began thinking that she might have to go and break up the
good-natured fun before Usagi upset Misako. That's when Misako surprised
her yet again. Not willing to let her sister top her, Misako dropped the
snowball she had been holding and rushed Usagi. This was a shock. A
shock that Usagi paused; that was a mistake. Misako ran into her sister
and drove her backward into a half-frozen mud puddle. To add insult to
injury, Misako sat atop Usagi and started stuffing handfuls of partially
frozen mud down the neck of her sister's jacket.
Serenity, who had straightened, stared in astonishment as Misako
proceeded to execute the very uncharacteristic move. It was even more of
a surprise a minute or so later when Usagi conceded defeat without any
hint of rancor. In fact, after Usagi had unceremoniously shoved a
handful of icy mud down the front of Misako's jacket, both giggled and
hugged. It almost seemed like these were two different girls. <Yep, my
LITTLE girls are going to need baths,> Serenity thought while giggling.
Donning her boots, she watched as Misako and Usagi set about playing
again. This time starting to build a snowman.
Pulling on her jacket, she softly opened the door and slipped
outside. She watched with some amusement as Misako and Usagi first
rolled and then attempted to lift a fairly large snowball. It was
obviously too heavy for the two small children and Serenity couldn't
help but smile as they both tried their best to place it onto the
slightly larger snowball that formed the base of the snowman. Her smile
grew as her daughters gave up trying to lift it. Instead, each gave the
offending snowball a good kick to show their displeasure.
"Would you like some help, Mesume?" Serenity questioned. Two little
heads whirled around in her direction. Four eyes enlarged as already
rosy cheeks grew even redder as both little girls blushed. "Would you
like me to help you?" Serenity asked again. Both Misako and Usagi shook
their head before each shoved a hand into one of their coat pockets.
Serenity's smile faltered slightly and she felt a pang of guilt as
Misako and Usagi reverted back to their normal ages. <Just as well,
there's Senshi practice soon,> Serenity thought, but she had enjoyed
watching them play. <Still, they shouldn't have stopped because of me.>
"Come along, girls," Serenity said, trying to hide her disappointment,
"Let's get inside. You might have clean clothes now but I bet you aren't
as clean. And I don't want you catching cold either." She could already
see the wetness and mud soaking into the just cleaned clothes.
"Hai, Okaa-san," both Usagi and Misako replied after exchanging
grim looks.
It was with some puzzlement that Serenity watched her daughters
approach her and then enter the Royal Suite, all the time looking as if
they were headed to an execution or some similarly gruesome fate.
Stepping inside after her daughters, Serenity closed the door and
removed her coat. "I wish I had gotten a picture. Both of you looked
very kawaii playing in the snow." <It's been a long time since they
looked like that.> Not for the first time in recent days, Usagi and
Misako gave her wary looks.
     "You aren't mad?" Misako asked.
"Iie," Serenity replied, "Why should I be?" Usagi gave her a
dubious expression and produced her Disguise Pen. "Oh, did you think I
would be upset because you were using that?" When both girls nodded,
Serenity chuckled and gently rumpled each girl's hair. "While I wouldn't
like for you two to do something like that outside the Royal Suite, I am
not as much of a stick in the mud as Luna was. If I had the time, I
might've joined..." She paused in running her hand through Misako's hair
and gave her youngest daughter a long look. "You must have really
enjoyed yourself. Be sure to wash your hair and..."
"Hai!" Usagi interrupted, "Ne, Miko-chan, want to come use my
furo?"
"Hai!" Misako chirped brightly, "I'll go get some clean clothes,
'Sagi-chan." Giving her sister a quick hug, she turned and walked across
the living room towards the hallway.
Usagi was about to follow but she felt her mother take her arm.
"Nani?" she asked, her eyes narrowing suspiciously.
"I'm very proud of you, Usagi-chan, playing with your imouto like
that. And the way you let her win..."
"She won all by herself," Usagi corrected with some force, "She'd
be mad at me if I just LET her win."
Serenity was very tempted to find out right then and there what was
bothering her children so much but shook it off. Noticing that Misako
was hovering just inside the hallway, obviously trying to overhear what
she and Usagi were discussing, Serenity raised her voice and said, "Go
have your bath but don't take too long because you've got Senshi
practice soon." It was then that Usagi looked at the clock and noticed
that it was later than she had thought it was.
"Hai Mother," Usagi agreed and giving her mother another oddly
sharp look, headed for her room.

Misako found herself skipping into her bedroom but came abruptly to
a halt when she noticed something was different. As she paused to
consider the change, a sense of stunned surprise spread through her. It
just wasn't one little thing; everything seemed to be changed. Gone were
her gymnastic medals and trophies. Gone was her neatly organized
collection of history books. Gone were the posters she had recently
purchased. Everything, including her bed, had changed. The walls were
now lined with pictures, obviously done by herself and some probably
done by Usagi. There were, however, some that she couldn't even recall.
The walls were not the mauve that she was accustomed to, but instead,
they were a pinkish-peach color.
The dominate feature of the pink and frilly bed was a large
collection of stuffed animals, predominantly bunnies with the occasional
teddy bear or cat as well. Somewhat afraid, Misako walked over to her
desk and noted with some unease, the storybooks that sat on the desk.
<How'd Mom do this?!?> Misako wondered as she turned her attention
to her closet, <She was awfully fast; maybe she used the Ginzuishou...>
Now why did that seem familiar? She didn't have time to ponder it as her
mind focussed sharply upon the contents of her closet. "Kami-sama!" she
breathed out, "What did Mom do?!?" If her room was bad, her closet was
even worse. Gone were the jeans, shorts, and T-shirts she liked to wear.
Vanished were the tracksuits and sweaters. Instead, were several dozen
dresses, all very definitely too frilly for Misako's tastes and only a
few colors that weren't some shade of pink! <And I thought 'Sagi's
clothes in the past were bad. At least, my school fuku is still here.>
The urge to go out and demand an explanation from her mother was
very tempting but Misako was starting to feel the effects of being cold
and damp. <We do have Senshi Practice.> And since Younger Uranus was
running today's session, there wouldn't be any point in being
unnecessarily late either. <This can wait...> Misako thought, <But I'm
NOT wearing one of those dresses!> She was tempted to wear her school
uniform. There had to be something halfway decent in there. Right at the
back of the closet, Misako found a set of overalls. They would likely be
a little tight, and were definitely not her style but they'd have to do.
<You'd think these were some of 'Sagi's old clothes,> Misako thought as
she tossed the pink overalls with the patch of two bunnies hugging on
the bed and set about looking for a shirt.

Usagi had been sitting in the furo for a short time and had begun
to worry about Misako when her sister entered the bathroom. "What took
you so long, Imouto?" she asked.
"You'll never believe what happened to my room!" Misako began as
she undressed and started washing, "Mother's gotten really weird this
time, Onee-chan."
"Yeah, I know..." Usagi replied as she frowned in thought. Giving
herself a shake, she asked, "So what happened to your room?" As Misako
told her about the massive changes, it sounded to Usagi like she had
wandered into another dimension. "Now that you mention it, I thought my
room looked different too." She hadn't bothered getting any clothes yet.
"Come and relax for a few minutes before Senshi practice. You know
Yagashi won't take it easy on us."
Misako nodded as she washed hair. After rinsing off, she walked
over to the furo and gently lowered herself into the inviting warm
water. "Hmmm... I was gettin' cold," Misako murmured as she sank up to
her neck in the warm water. "I thought Mom would be really mad... I
wonder what she's up to?"
"I don't know, Miko-chan, but she's gone too far this time," Usagi
remarked.
It was quiet in the bathroom for a long moment before Misako gave
her sister a soft smile. "Onee-chan, thanks for getting those Disguise
Pens. I really had fun. Arigato." Usagi returned the smile.
"You stay here for a little bit, Imouto. I've been in here longer
than you have. I'm gonna go talk to Mother." <I'm getting sick and tired
of her baka mind games.>
"'Sagi," Misako said while reaching up to catch her sister's hand.
Usagi squeezed Misako's hand and gave her another smile. "Don't
worry, Miko-chan. I've had a great time writing that story and playing
with you and I'm not going to let Mother spoil it with any of her
tricks."
"Just wait for a little while and we can talk to Mother together,"
Misako suggested. Usagi seemed a little reluctant but settled back down
into the inviting warmth of the furo.

"U-sa-gi," Misako growled as she tried to wiggle into the overalls
a short time later, "Keep laughing and I'll be forced to hurt you...
severely!" Usagi just giggled again.
"At least Mother was decent enough to leave me something more
suitable for a princess," Usagi remarked while sauntering towards the
door. She was wearing nice blouse and knee-length skirt. She turned
around at Misako's growl. "I didn't know you liked animal prints on your
undies either." She giggled again and ran from the room as Misako threw
a pillow at her. Usagi held her door shut, but after a moment or so, it
seemed as if Misako wasn't going to be chasing her. <I really shouldn't
tease her,> Usagi thought to herself, <It's not her fault Mother took
all of her good stuff.> She started towards the living room, intent on
talking to her mother when she heard a very strange sounding voice.
"I can hardly wait to see Miko-chan, Your Majesty!" the voice said.
It was high-pitched and squeaky. Usagi frowned and moved a little
further along the hallway. "I'm glad Small Lady and Miko-chan were
having fun together. Too bad they couldn't wait for me though."
Usagi was just passing her parents' bedroom when the door opened.
Turning, she saw her father stepping out of it. "Ne, Dad, who's talking
to Mom?"
"Why don't you go say hello and find out?" King Endymion replied,
"Where's your imouto?"
"Getting dressed," Usagi replied, "Come on, it isn't a big secret,
ne?"
"Of course not, Usagi-chan," Endymion replied, "It's Sailor Pluto.
You know she usually comes by this time of day." Gently rumpling his
daughter's hair, he suggested, "Go on and say hello. You have to leave
soon for Senshi practice. I'll go see what's keeping your sister."
"Hai," Usagi replied and turned to face the living room again.
<Pluto must have a cold; that's why her voice sounds funny. All right,
Pluto, you and me are going to have it out right now!> No wonder their
mother was acting strangely; she and Pluto were up to something again.
Straightening her shoulders, she stomped down the remaining part of the
hallway and into the living room. "All right, Pluto, what's going on?!?"
Usagi demanded.
"Konnichiwa Small Lady!" came the squeaky high-pitched reply. Usagi
blinked and started in amazement.
"Iie, this isn't possible..." Usagi muttered out, "It just isn't
possible!" She watched with some trepidation unable to move as Sailor
Pluto came over and hugged her.

Misako had spent a few seconds glaring after her sister before
pulling on the overalls and the shirt. After slipping on her socks, she
sighed at the disgustingly kawaii looking visage that stared back from
the mirror. "Blech!" Misako declared while sticking her tongue out.
<These things make me look four not twelve!> It was at that moment that
a knock came at the door. Wandering over to it, pillow in hand, she
carefully opened it.
"Miko-chan?" Endymion questioned as he noticed his daughter
wielding a pillow.
"Gomen Dad. I thought you were 'Sagi," Misako answered and tossed
the pillow onto the bed.
<Dad? I guess calling me "Daddy" had to stop eventually.> "Was she
picking on you again, Mesume?" he asked seriously and gave her a hug.
<Again?> "Iie," Misako replied, "Did you want something, Dad?"
Misako was puzzled to see her father's eyebrows raise slightly. Her
puzzlement grew when he inquired, "Don't you want to show off your new
stuffed bunny?"
Misako replied with the first thing that came to mind, "What
stuffed bunny, Dad? That's 'Sagi's department." <I still can't believe
Mom would do this to me. At least, Dad isn't making fun of me... Oh
sometimes, I think 'Sagi could use a good swift kick in the butt!>
Endymion blinked in genuine surprise. "The one I bought for you the
other day." He gave her a small grin and added, "The one I might add
that you begged me for, Miko-chan. The one that nearly got me into
trouble with your mother because I was `spoiling' you." Misako's
response to that last statement was a crushing one, she laughed.
"Yeah and 'Sagi's the Easter Bunny!"
Usagi screaming at the top of her lungs cut any response Endymion
may have given short. Pelting past her father, Misako ran down the
hallway the best she could and came to a sliding halt in the living
room. Her eyes enlarged and her mouth swung open as she saw a green
colored teddy bear with a purple ribbon around its neck looking very
surprised at Usagi.
     "Na-ni?!?!" Misako squeaked.
"MIKO-CHAN!" the teddy bear cried happily and ran over to Misako.
She jumped up and wrapped her furry arms around Misako's neck while
giggling. "Your onee's being funny today. I just hugged her and she
screamed." While Misako didn't scream, she could only make inarticulate
noises of surprise.

After her initial shock started to fade, Misako returned the hug.
While her mind was still trying to register the fact that she was being
hugged by a living teddy bear, it seemed natural to return the hug. Her
uncertainty grew slightly when the teddy bear asked, "What's with you
today, Miko-chan?" It seemed genuinely concerned. "It's like you never
saw me before."
"Um... well..." Misako began and trailed off, not quite sure what
to say. <Something is seriously wrong here... and it's not just because
a talking teddy bear is hugging me.>
"What the hell are you up to?!?" Usagi demanded, turning from
Misako and the strange looking Sailor Pluto to glare at her mother. "I
don't know what type of mind games you're trying to play but making
Pluto look like a teddy bear is definitely NOT going to work!"
"Usagi?!" Serenity questioned, a look of utter shock on her face,
"What do you mean `mind games'?"
"Usagi-chan, you know that Puu Bear usually comes over this time of
day," Endymion pointed out. <Misako loves her so.>
"Puu Bear?!?" both Misako and Usagi echoed.
"So you're in on this too, Dad! Why are you trying to rip off a
perfectly decent storybook character?" Usagi questioned. Pluto was doing
a good job of looking rather perplexed. "What I want to know is how in
the world you managed to look at the story we wrote?"
Pluto's eyes widened and she gave Misako a large smile. "Oh
Miko-chan, you wrote a story?! Sugoi! Can we go read it?"
"Stop acting like you're friends with Misako!" Usagi yelled while
starting to advance on the teddy bear, "You've already hurt her enough
and I'm not going to stand by and let you hurt her anymore!"
"NANI?!" the other occupants of the room, with the exception of
Misako, demanded.
Misako let Puu Bear slip from her arms and hurried over to Usagi
who seemed on the verge of a verbal barrage. The teddy bear seemed on
the brink of tears. "'Sagi-chan," Misako said softly while squeezing her
sister's arm gently, "I don't think you understand."
"What's to understand?!?" Usagi demanded of her sister.
"IMOUTO!" Misako warned, "Cool it!" Usagi opened her mouth to
respond, noticed the warning look her sister was giving her, and
instead, simply closed it while clenching her fists. When Misako turned
around, she saw her parents and Puu Bear staring at her with absolute
shock. "I really wish people would stop doing that," she remarked, "I
don't see what the big deal is."
After another moment or so, Serenity shook her head slightly and
then pinned her eldest daughter with an intense glare. "Young lady, I
want to know exactly what you're accusing us of. I also expect you to
speak to us in a civil tone of voice." While Usagi was quite prepared to
listen to Misako, she wasn't quite yet willing to listen to her mother.
"Well...?" Serenity prompted. Usagi was just about ready to tell her
mother exactly what she was accusing them of but the door chime to the
private entrance robbed her of the chance.
"Now, who could that be?" Endymion wondered. He excused himself and
he went to answer the door. Misako seeing that Puu Bear was just about
as confused as she was feeling walked over to the teddy bear and hugged
her. This seemed to reassure Puu Bear who returned the hug and smiled at
Misako.

Any remaining sense of normality the girls had was ripped away when
their father returned with three people. Three people who should not
have existed in Crystal Tokyo.
"Konnichiwa Miko-chan! Usagi-chan!" an adult Terra chirped
brightly, "You ready for Senshi practice?" Walking over, she lifted
Misako up and gave her a large hug. "And how's my niece doing?" Misako
wasn't sure so she remained silent. "You're not feeling well today,
sweetheart?" Terra asked as she looked seriously at Misako. Her niece
was definitely looking ill. "We can't have you getting sick or
anything." She quickly brushed the tip of her finger across Misako's
nose. "You're way too kawaii for that."
"She'd better not get sick," rumbled a male voice. Misako turned to
find Doug walking over to join them. "Overalls, ne Princess? What'd your
dad bribe you with to get you into those?"
"I didn't bribe her, Doug-san," Endymion protested, "Misako put
those on herself."
"Yeah!" Misako piped up, "This was the only decent piece o' crap I
could find."
"Misako!" Endymion hissed with some shock, "Please be polite."
Shaking his head, he added, "I don't know why you want to dress so...
tomboyish. It certainly isn't the type of thing MY little girl would
wear."
"FATHER," Misako said in all earnest, "I am twelve and a half years
old. I might be younger than 'Sagi but I AM NOT A LITTLE GIRL!" The
utter disbelief on her father's features rubbed her the wrong way.
"Okay, so I shouldn't have used that type of language but I'm not a
little girl. I'm a teen. 'Sides, you know I don't like frilly dresses."
"Terra-chan?" Doug asked softly, "Are you sure we're in the right
house?"
"Hai, I think so, Doug-chan..." Terra replied tentatively, "That
looks like my onii and your onee." She gave Misako a critical look and
added, "She looks like my niece Misako, but she doesn't talk like her
though."
     "I AM Misako!" Misako protested.
"Miko-chan..." Serenity said, her voice was low but held a hint of
warning to it.
Gritting her teeth, Misako swallowed some of her pride and tried to
put an expression of repentance before saying tentatively, "Gomen,
Doug-ojisan, Terra-obasan." Both Doug and Terra seemed to be off-balance
so Misako added, "Can I have a hug?"
"Terra 'n' Doug?!?" Usagi squeaked out.
"At your service, Your Highness," Doug replied with a sweeping bow.
Then reaching out, he lifted Misako into a hug, which she returned.
"And this, my fair maiden, is the SEMI-honorable Aino Will," indicating
the man next to him, "He is also at your service... Unless, of course,
Minako wants him to do something around the Suite."
Will gave Doug a sour look before asking, "Semi-honorable?"
"Of course, you aren't a Lunar Knight after all. Just Tuxedo
Kamen's understudy."
     "Are you serious?!?" Usagi demanded.
Will snorted before replying, "Don't listen to him, Usagi-chan, I'm
honorable. At least, I don't complain about being married." <Minako'd
kill me if I did.>
"Yeah, my dear fellow, but alas, you weren't forced into it by your
onee," Doug countered with a wary eye towards Serenity.
"Hold your tongue," Serenity directed. He obliged and after
sticking out his tongue, held it. Puu Bear and Misako giggled at this,
Terra playfully slapped Doug on the shoulder, and Usagi just scowled.
"How's that?" Doug questioned while still holding his tongue.
Serenity humphed and crossed her arms. "Rough day today, ne Onee-chan?"
Before Serenity could respond, Usagi finally recovered her voice
enough to demand, "What in the name of Great Serenity's Ghost is going
on here?!?"
"Usagi!" Terra admonished while covering Misako's ears, "Don't use
that type of language in front of Misako."
"Usagi," Serenity admonished gently, "That's no way for the Crown
Princess to act." She gave a little sigh and looked at Terra. "See what
your spoiling does, Terra-chan? Is it too much to ask that they address
you properly?" Terra gave Serenity a sly grin while winking.
Misako, seeing a way that she could get back at Usagi for teasing
her earlier, added, "That's okay, Terra-obasan, 'Sagi's said a lot
worse."
"She has?" Terra asked while fixing Usagi with a dark look.
     "Hai," Misako replied while nodding.
Stroking one of her youngest niece's pigtails for a moment, she
gave Misako a smile. "Um... Well, don't do anything I wouldn't do." When
Endymion groaned, Misako giggled. Turning to Usagi, Terra said, "Now
come on before we're late."
"Nani? For what?" Usagi asked. She had no intention of going
anywhere until things got sorted out. Upon seeing her mother's stern
look, she sighed slightly and added, "Gomen Terra-obasan... What would
we be late for?"
"Sailor Senshi Practice, of course, silly," Terra replied. "You
haven't forgotten, ne?"
"You go to Senshi Practice, too, Oba-san?" Misako asked gleefully,
"That'll be great!"
"Why wouldn't I go, sweetheart? After all, I'm Elder Earth."
"Really?!?" Misako asked, her eyes wide. <This is weird but I kinda
like it!> When Terra nodded in response to her question, she commented,
"Well, I guess I'm still Chibi-Earth then."
"Iie, Princess, that's your cousin and she's YOUNGER Earth," Will
corrected. Running a hand through his hair, he added, "It's like you
don't know us today or something. Maybe we should have Mizuno-sensei
take a look at you after the girls get back from Senshi practice, just
to be safe." Then he noticed Misako's broach. "Where'd you get that,
Miko-chan?"
"I've seen some despicable tricks, MOTHER, but I never thought
you'd stoop this low," Usagi stated acidically and then turning to her
sister, she encouraged, "Go ahead, Miko-chan, show them you're a Sailor
Senshi!"
"Hai!" Misako replied, "I am too a Senshi!" <I have to be.> Taking
off her broach, she held it high into the air and called out, "EARTH
PRISM POWER, MAKE UP!" Her blood ran cold when she didn't feel that
special echo deep within her. She could no longer feel the song that
always seemed to be there. Everyone stared at her in silence. With her
hands clutching at her heart, she held the broach tighter, and cried out
her transformation phrase once more. Again, the only response was the
resounding hollowness she felt.
"Iie..." Misako shook her head almost in tears, "This can't be!"
"Don't worry, Peanut," Doug soothed, "I think it's great that you
want to be a Senshi." He grunted slightly as Terra jabbed him in the
ribs.
"Maybe if we still had the Guardian Earth Stone, you could be a
Sailor Senshi, Miko-chan," Endymion chimed in, "But it was destroyed in
our final battle with Crystal." He began to think of Crystal. "That
helped her though. Instead of her looking for revenge and harming
people, Crystal's done a lot of good in the world."
"And the Guardian Earth Stone was more powerful than the
Ginzuishou," Terra observed, "At least according to what Macavity told
me. After it was destroyed, he didn't say much about it."

"I bet you didn't even ask Sakuya about this," Usagi added as she
looked between Puu Bear and her mother. "And I don't think Kimeko would
like it either."
"What's the matter, Doug-ojisan?" Misako asked nervously. When
Sakuya had been mentioned, his expression had suddenly turned forlorn.
"Tsukino Usagi, that isn't very funny," Doug admonished, "I see now
what you were talking about, Serenity-chan."
"And what does my mesume have to do with not liking the fact that
Misako isn't a Senshi?" Will asked, "Kimeko isn't even a Senshi
herself."
<Something's wrong with Sakuya?> Misako thought. Her immediate
thoughts drifted to Atsuko and then she realized that Atsuko likely
didn't exist. <Iie...> She felt ashamed that she had actually thought
that this new reality could work, but she would be giving up far too
much. <I couldn't even ask 'Sagi to give up that much,> she thought, <I
have to talk to her... but how?> An idea popped into her head and she
hoped that Kami-sama would smile upon her performance. "You mean I'm not
a Sailor Senshi like Onee-san, Daddy?" She tried to make her voice
plaintive and sad.
<Misako?> Usagi couldn't believe Misako acting like this. There had
to a reason. But what? <I'll play along with her.>
"Iie, Miko-chan, you aren't a Sailor Senshi," her father replied,
"I don't think you could ever be one. Gomen Mesume."
Misako tried to picture herself looking miserable. Her bottom lip
began to tremble. Her eyes moistened and began to fill with tears.
Taking what she hoped looked like a heaving breath, Misako wailed, "BUT
I WANNA BE A SENSHI, DADDY!"
As if it had been rehearsed, Usagi walked over and yelled, "Misako!
Stop being so baka!"
If Misako hadn't been trying to look so miserable, she would have
hugged Usagi. Increasing the volume of her wailing, she pushed her
sister away and ran from the room and into her own. Upon entering her
bedroom, she slammed the door before grinning. <I hope 'Sagi comes after
me,> Misako thought. She wasn't sure if she could keep up that helpless
little girl routine for very much longer.
"Usagi, when you get back from Senshi practice, your father and I
am going to have a long talk with you," Serenity warned as she started
towards the hallway, "You and Terra go on to Senshi practice. I'll go
try and talk to Misako."
"I'll come, too!" Puu Bear added, deep concern showing on her face.
"Mom, Plu-Puu Bear... let me talk to her," Usagi asked softly,
"We've tried to get along these last few days. I don't want to spoil it.
Please let me go talk to her." She gave her mother the sincerest look
she could.
"All right, Usagi-chan, you have five minutes," her mother agreed,
"Then we're coming in." She gave a small smile as Usagi quickly hugged
her and made her way down the hallway to Misako's room. When her eldest
daughter had entered the bedroom, Serenity sighed and turned to her
guests. "I really should apologize for Usagi and Misako's behavior. I
don't know what's gotten into them lately."
"I couldn't believe the rudeness..." Endymion started to say and
then trailed off, "I know you're family but that still doesn't give the
girls the right to behave the way they did. You'd think they were little
kids competing for attention."
"I know all about that," Terra remarked while giving Will a sharp
look.
"And exactly is THAT supposed to mean, Onee-chan?" Will demanded.

"Miko-chan?" Usagi called out after entering the room.
"I'm in the bathroom," Misako called out, "Come on in so we can
talk." Usagi complied and walked over to the bathroom. She found Misako
wiping at her face. "Don't worry, Onee-chan, when you yelled at me, I
coulda hugged you!"
Usagi relaxed a little and she said, "You shocked me. But I'm glad
you're not upset with me. I figured it might be some kind of plan of
yours." She squawked when Misako hit her in the face with the facecloth.
"Cut that out!"
"Gomen 'Sagi," Misako apologized, "It slipped."
"Yeah right," Usagi commented, "We don't have much time. Do you
know what's going on, Imouto?"
"Hai!" Misako replied with a grin, "It's our story."
"I know that!" Usagi countered testily while tossing the facecloth
into the sink.
"Do you? How did we write the story?" Misako asked. Usagi gave her
an annoyed look so Misako answered her own question by saying, "We used
the Ginzuishou to make it REAL!"
Usagi muttered acidically to herself while slapping her forehead.
"I completely forgot about it... So when we changed the past, our future
changed too." Misako nodded. "And we were protected because we were the
ones doing the changing?"
     "Hai!" Misako replied.
"So how do we undo it, Miko-chan?"
"A reset, and you have to undo everything including us finding out
about Doug and Will."
"But our story..." Usagi began and then trailed off as Misako shook
her head.
"'Sagi, we had a great time, didn't we? We're close in the normal
reality, ne?" Usagi nodded. "The Ginzuishou has always had some good
effects. Who knows what it'll preserve and what it'll change."
"You're right, Misako," Usagi replied, "But can I have a hug before
we do this?" Misako happily hugged her sister who returned it. "Let's do
this then." Turning, the girls headed out into the bedroom.
Out in the living room, the others were waiting silently. "It's
quiet, too quiet," Serenity offered with some worry, "I'm going to go
see what's happening." She didn't care if five minutes were up or not.
Misako and Usagi just weren't acting normally. Walking down the hallway,
Puu Bear following closely behind her, she reached out and gripped
Misako's doorknob. That's when reality seemed to fall away from her and
she was swept up in a dizzying darkness.

Misako blinked and looked at her sister, "What the heck was
that?!?" Usagi gave her a puzzled look and then her eyes widened.
"Nani?" Misako asked while following the direction of Usagi's stare.
"What are you doing with the Ginzuishou, Onee-chan?"
"That's what I'd like to know," came a voice from the doorway. Both
girls gave a yelp of surprise and turned to see their mother looming in
the doorway. "I'm sorry for not knocking but Rei said she had been
feeling something strange the past few days and then, I felt the
Ginzuishou give a surge."
     "I... I don't know, Okaa-san," Usagi said with genuine surprise, "I
can't remember even getting it." Feeling disoriented, she held the
Ginzuishou out for her mother to take.
"Usagi," Serenity started to admonish while taking the Ginzuishou,
"You know how dangerous this is." Usagi reddened and lowered her head to
look towards the ground. "After you and Misako get back from Senshi
practice, I want to have a talk with you."
     "Hai Okaa-san," Usagi replied.
"Senshi practice?" Misako squeaked and looked at the clock,
"Kami-sama, we're late!" Retrieving her transformation broach from on
top of the notebook, she yelled, "EARTH PRISM POWER, MAKE-UP!" After the
magical light had faded, Sailor Chibi-Earth looked at Usagi and
exclaimed, "Come on, 'Sagi-chan, if we don't hurry we'll be in really
hot water."
Nodding, Usagi cried out, "MOON PRISM POWER, MAKE-UP!" No sooner
had the magical light faded, then Younger Moon grabbed Chibi-Earth's
hand, gave their mother a tight smile, and fled the room while calling
out, "Ja Okaa-san!"
"Ja ne!" Serenity called out after her daughters. Chuckling to
herself, she began to wander out into the hallway but came to an abrupt
stop. "Nani? What's this?" she wondered as she bent down and picked up
the object she had nearly tripped over. "A new teddy bear?" It was green
with a purple ribbon around its neck. "I wonder when Misako got this?"
Curious, Serenity hadn't noticed it until now. Grinning, Serenity turned
and reentered the bedroom. "Now where to put you..." If it was new, then
Misako would likely be extra worried about it. "Better put you where she
can see."
Walking over to the bed, Serenity carefully placed the teddy bear
onto the bed so it was resting up against the headboard. Turning, she
was about to leave when she brushed the nightstand causing a notepad to
clatter to the floor. "Nani?" Sitting down on the bed, she leaned
forward and retrieved it. Flipping it open, her curiosity piqued when
she saw the title, "Bunny's Revenge". "This has to be that story the
girls were working on the last few days." With a slightly guilty
feeling, Serenity settled herself more comfortably and started flipping
through the notepad's pages. She would stop every once in awhile to read
over some passage that caught her attention.
"Me with a twin brother," Serenity remarked when she found a
reference, "I know Shingo and I fought a lot back then but... I don't
think I'd ever want a replacement for him." Images of her youth rushed
to the forefront of her mind as the story stirred those long hidden
memories. She couldn't help but laugh at Crystal's antics. The treatment
of "Usagi" in the story brought her back to reality.
After a short time, Serenity sighed and replaced the notepad where
it had been on the nightstand. "Why these girls want to beat a dead
horse I don't know." It was certainly infuriating to have to continually
justify your actions when they were perfectly logical. She clamped down
on her indignation while rising to her feet. "The girls will simply have
to put what happened in the past behind them and move on."
<I'll speak with Endymion about this, and about Usagi's usage of
the Ginzuishou. She certainly won't listen to me but maybe she'll listen
to him.> Walking to the door, Serenity paused and looked back over her
shoulder, "I don't need Misako thinking I took you away. You'll stay
here, won't you?"
It might have been a trick of the light but Serenity could almost
swear the teddy bear winked at her. She was about to leave when she
paused, "Uh... maybe I should stay with you... Minako insisted on baking
for this afternoon's Senshi Council meeting."

                                 ******

Will jerked awake with a start. As he gripped his stomach, he
looked around frantically. "Just a dream..." he muttered but what a
dream that had been. "Was Minako really here?" Impossible but it felt as
if he had really experienced her food. Still, she seemed so real, so
beautiful. Scratching at the stubble on his face, he tried to sort out
the foggy mental images in his mind. "I was back in college and
Chibi-Usa made me... Nah!" It had been an extremely weird dream. "Better
get ready for work."
At first, he considered sending Doug an Email message but then
thought better of it. <Doug would probably think I've flipped.> He
decided it would be more prudent to just forget the dream. Anyway, he
had to worry about convincing Doug that his plans for Misako in their
next story were well intentioned.

In another part of the same dimension, Doug also woke up with a
similar feeling of pain. Even the thought of Minako's cooking turned his
stomach. Shaking his head, he sighed while muttering, "I wouldn't want
Usagi as a sister." It would just be too hazardous. Besides, the fact he
had no desire to go through high school... or kindergarten again.
The idea of himself as Usagi's twin brother was strange enough that
his brain asked if it could consider the idea for a story. Maybe bounce
the idea off Will. The firm answer was "NO WAY". Doug did care how real
that dream had seemed; he was not going to babble about it. Well
possibly to Tails-chan but that was a different story altogether.
He did have a sense that he should somehow be nicer to Misako and
Chib... Usagi. They certainly deserved a little good fortune after the
harrowing ride he'd put them through.

So what did Will and Doug plan for Usagi and Misako? To quote,
"That's another story."

The End

Authors' Afterwords:

This was a strange story, but it had a strange beginning so I suppose
it's fitting. I won't try and explain how it got the way it did. I'll
just say that when first suggested by Will, it would have been a
Self-Insertion with Misako and Usagi providing a MST type of theme.
Eventually it turned into a Self-Insertion supposedly written by Misako
and Usagi.

One reader was kind enough to point out that this wasn't necessarily a
"Revenge Fic". To us, it seemed to be revenge, more a literal meaning of
the word for it just wasn't against us. I also think that this story did
what most of our stories do, they wander away from the original outline.
This was a lighthearted piece of fiction not meant to be taken too
seriously, and I think it succeeded.

I might have wrote a lot of this story but it was Will's ideas that got
it started, even when I was a little skeptical about the matter.

I'd firstly like to thank QuesTails for her inspiration about Pluto.
Contrary to what some readers have thought, I actually like Sailor Pluto
as a character. The story behind the Teddy Bear will be told in a story
that Tails and I have worked on together.

To our betareaders, I'd like to extend our appreciation as well. I'd
like to than those that draw artwork, not only for this story but also
for all of our stories. We're lucky to have you with us.

And to the readers, a word of thanks as well. You may not comment but
it's nice to know that you read our stories.

Not much more to say. We're in the midst of discussion future stories to
do. I'd like to make one mention. Some of been wondering about a sequel
to "Mama's Hand". It's been more than two years now since "Mama's Hand"
was finished. I don't know if I will do a sequel, I might, but I'm
uncertain if I really want to or not.

Well another story has been completed. I never thought I'd still be
interested in doing this after three years but here I am planning for
several more stories. Finding Doug and being able to work with him on
various projects has been a high point of my Moonie life. Another is
developing friendships with a number of fellow Moonies. Thank you Doug
for letting me continue to work with you.

The start of "The World Turned Upside Down" was an idea I had after
writing my "Advice for New/Struggling SM Fanfic Authors" posted on our
web site. It lists a number of do's and don'ts, overused concepts, and
the like. I thought about a story that would violate most of those rules
in order to spoof what many authors have done in a serious fashion. As
Doug said, I thought originally of a story where Usagi and Misako would
do a running MST of a story we wrote. They would be very negative in
their opinion of it. I pitched it to Doug and after much discussion, we
had "The World Turned Upside Down". We became unknowing puppets of Usagi
and Misako who were out for revenge on us and others who had caused them
grief in "Tales of Younger Earth". We haven't wrote a story specifically
to be a comedy before so it was quite a challenge. From what we have
heard, there are many readers who fell off their chairs laughing at
various points in the story. If we managed to get you to laugh at
"Bunny's Revenge", then we accomplished our task.

Thank you to our betareaders and our artists who have put in a
considerable amount of time to make our stories better. Thanks to those
who took the time to comment on our stories. We always love to hear from
you and we respond to all of them. To those who didn't comment, I'm
still glad you took the time to read our story.

The future is bright and you will be seeing more of our original ToYSS
characters as well as the canon Sailor Moon characters. So keep reading!
