A Human Super Saiyajin
Chapter 1
A New Morning
The sun raised slowly over Nerima and the peaceful chirping of birds
gently woke Ranma from his blissful sleep. He got up quickly and began
his early morning exercises. Doing push-ups, crunches, and executing a
few basic punches and kicks to get the blood in his veins flowing
smoothly.
His father, in panda form, was still asleep curled up into a ball.
'Stupid old man," he thought. 'maybe I should wake him.' He kneeled by
the panda's head and drew his fist back, ready to bludgeon his own
father to consciousness. "Nah," he said softly. "let him sleep."
With the grace of a cat, Ranma jumped to his feet, got dressed
quickly, and stepped out of the guest room he shared with his father.
His eyes sighted the door across the hall. "A...Akane." Ranma gazed
longingly at Akane's bedroom door, imagining her sleeping peacefully
in her cozy bed. Her porcelain face relaxed and angelic.
He stood just outside his room, dressed in his favorite red shirt
and loose black pants. He quietly walked towards her door and lifted
his right hand to knock, but stopped short. "What am I doing?!" he
whispered fiercely, as he quickly dropped his hand to his sides
clenching it into a first. Then he sighed and thought, "I want
to...but I just can't.'
Ranma closed his eyes, as he tried to stop the flow of tears from
coming, but a small tear escaped, and it flowed slowly down his cheek.
"Baka! Real men don't cry!' He hung his head low, turned from Akane's
door, and walked slowly away.
When he got farther from Akane's room, he sped up and half-ran down
the steps and bolted for the door leading outside. Not even noticing
Kasumi's shocked cry of "Oh, my!" when she hit the ground firmly on
her butt, knocked over by his sudden exit.
The morning was cool, and the chill in the air cleared the fog which
had clouded his mind. He walked calmly to the edge of the koi pond and
folded his arms across his chest. His eyes looked blankly into space,
as thoughts whirled in his head.
----
Akane awoke abruptly, her eyelids flapping open. With a low groan, she
got out from underneath the covers. Her room was cool, and she
shivered slightly. She walked over to the window and sighed. She had
another one of those dreams about Ranma last night, and it depressed
her to know that the reality was nothing like the dream. After all he
had at least two other fiances, why would he ever pick an un-cute
tomboy like her. 'Easy there girl,' Akane thought as she noticed her
hands had become fists.
It was a new day, and something in her heart promised that this
would be a day of revelations. Her eye fell to the figure standing at
the edge of the pond.
His stance was proud, almost cocky. His back was straight, his legs
together, and his arms across his chest. The cool morning wind blew
gently against him, making his pig-tail seem to dance. Akane stared
out the window in awe. It was very rare that she could see Ranma like
this, without the arrogance and the macho charade.
'He really is handsome." she thought.
Ranma, with a grim look on his face, began to slowly stretch his
muscles, loosening the knots caused by sleep. Urging the blood in his
veins to flow smoother, giving his body nourishment and strength.
He fell into a standard cat stance, right leg forward, knees
slightly bent and began to throw punches and kicks at an invisible
opponent. Each movement precise and calculated. A soft golden glow
began to surround him, outlining his body and increasing in intensity.
As the speed and grace of the kata increased, his hands became a
blur, a strike became a block and a block became a strike. He moved to
a hidden rhythm. A rhythm that he alone knew and mastered.
Akane sighed as she tore her gaze from the window. Looking at Ranma
like that stirred feelings within her that she both feared and longed
for. She moved to her closet, grabbed some clothes and prepared for a
bath.
----
Ranma finished his last set of techniques and rested his hands to his
sides. Taking a slow deep breath, he bowed to his invisible opponent;
the warm glow surrounding him faded, ending his kata.
"You're late, pops." Ranma said, without even turning around or
giving any indication that he knew his father was trying to sneak up
on him.
Genma froze for an instant, surprised. "Don't be cocky, boy! A true
Martial Artist..."
He never got to finish his sentence. In one smooth movement, Ranma
thrust back his right leg, twisting his body, and connecting fiercely
against Genma's stomach with a solid side-thrust.
Half anticipating the attack, Genma rolled backwards, absorbing the
blow and quickly got up into his own modified karate stance, a frown
apparent on his face. "I guess it's time for your old man to teach you
a lesson, boy!" he yelled, before charging straight for his unmoving
son.
A cocky grin appeared on Ranma's face as he gauged his father's
movements. He moved into his own defensive stance, already visualizing
many possible frontal attacks that Genma could make. And thus, their
morning sparring session began.
----
"Breakfast!" Kasumi's pleasant voice filled the air, signaling the two
combatants to stop. Ranma landed on a rock by the koi pond. His
breathing heavy, as he rubbed the back of his left hand across his
forehead. The old man was in fine form today, surprising him with new
techniques that actually got through most of his defenses. 'What's
goin' on here?' he asked himself. 'Just yesterday, Pop's couldn't even
land a hit on me; now he's make me look like a fool!'
Genma landed not far away. His gi plastered to his body by sweat.
"Ok, boy. You heard what Kasumi said. Time to wrap this up." With fire
in his eyes, Genma launched back into the air, daring his son to meet
him.
"What ever you say, old man!" Ranma responded. As he also soared
into the air. Somehow making his words sound like a battle cry.
They met in the air, trading lightning fast punches and kicks in a
matter of seconds and landing on rocks opposite each other. Ranma
landed on the rock awkwardly; he shifted his body into a backwards
roll to avoid a sprained ankle, and quickly flipped back to his feet.
His head ached and his vision was blurry. He couldn't understand what
was happening. How'd the old man get so good?
Ranma shook his head to clear his vision and tightened his raised
fists. "What's wrong, boy? Finally realized your pop's still got a few
things to teach you?" Genma taunted his son. Ranma's eyes narrowed and
a dark blue battle aura flared around his body. That was the last
straw. Father or not, no one mocked Ranma Saotome! He gathered his
confidence around him like a warm blanket and concentrated it into a
ball of energy between his outstretched hands. "You had this coming,
old man! Mouko Takabisha!" Ranma screamed as he let loose his
confidence. The spherical ball flew through the air in a straight line
towards a surprised Genma, leaving behind it a trail of white smoke.
Ranma was sure he was going to win, a cocky smile already on his
face, but that smile curled into horror, as he saw his father cupping
his hands to his right hip, a crimson sphere already forming, with an
incoherent battle cry, Genma launched his attack. The red sphere of
concentrated ki energy collided and absorbed Ranma's own blast. "Oh,
my." was all Ranma could say as the crimson sphere smashed into him
with the power of a wrecking ball. The resulting explosion left Ranma
unconscious inside a newly made crater, his clothiers torn and burnt.
Genma gave a sigh of relief as he lowered his hands. Sweat glistened
off his body and his breathing was heavy. It had been a while since he
fought like that. He'd almost forgotten how thrilling it was to be
able to fight at full strength. The boy was making good progress.
Perhaps it was time to show Ranma the true reason why the Saotome's
specialized in mid-air combat.
----
"Give up, Kakarotto! I've got you this time!" cried Vegetta as he sent
another blast towards his arch-rival. The yellow blast soared through
the space between the two combatants faster than the blink of a
Saiyajin eye.
The grin on Gokou's face was replaced by surprise, as the blast
crashed through his defenses and impacted heavily against his chest;
knocking more than just wind from his lungs.
A cloud of dust and debree blurred both Saiyajin's vision,
momentarily stopping the battle. On the sidelines, Gohan, Piccolo, and
the rest of the Z warriors held their breaths.
Vegetta, his massive golden aura surrounding him like wild fire; his
golden hair seeming to dance as pure ki ignited from every pore of his
body, and wicked green eyes, stood in a ready stance. Taking in slow
deep breaths, as he fought to control the rush of energy and power
that all Super Saiyajin's feel.
Before the dust even had a chance to settle, a golden blur emerged
and shot towards Vegetta. He barely had enough time to dodge a punch
to his face, but unfortunately, that left his stomach wide open for a
fierce jab that almost sent him to his knees. Clenching his left hand
into a tight fist, Vegetta began to gather energy for a retaliation
strike.
"TIME!!" Piccolo's voice rang across the battle field.
Instantaneously, Gokou powered down and moved into a relaxed stance.
"Good match, Vegetta." he said in his usual cheerful voice.
"Hmmph." Was Vegetta's reply as he smashed his ki powered fist into
Gokou's stomach, causing the Saiyajin to crash into a nearby mountain
side. "Yes, good match." he said before flying off.
Gokou stood unsteadily to his feet. The flow that he received from
Vegetta took more out of him than he thought. What was wrong with his
body? For the past few days, he'd been feeling a little under the
weather. He sighed and pushed the thoughts about his health to the
back of his mind. There were more pressing matters to worry about.
According to what future-Trunks said nearly three years ago, Dr. Gero
and the Androids would appear soon. It was May 1st now and May 12th
would arrive in just eleven more days. He hoped he and everyone would
be ready by then.
"Are you alright, Dad?" Gohan, responded, as he began to dust
himself off.
"That Vegetta...that was a cheap shot!" Kurrillin exclaimed in his
usual way of stating the obvious. The various Z warriors could only
nod their heads in agreement.
----
Somewhere in the Wild:
"Just you wait, Ranma!" Ryouga screamed once more, as he made his
way through thick bushes, wild trees, and shrubbery.
Ryouga was having another lousy day. He hadn't been back to Nerima
in a long time, not since the disastrous wedding attempt between Ranma
and Akane, and he was beginning to wonder if he'd ever find his way
back again.
He'd been traveling for days in a thick jungle, and there had been
no sign of civilization. He finally came to the slow realization that
he wasn't in Hokkaido, like he thought earlier, it was too warm. He
was also positive that there weren't any hippos in Hokkaido.
With these clues of his surroundings in his mind, Ryouga came up
with the only possible conclusion. He was probably in Okinawa and
somehow..."RANMA! This is all your fault!"
End Chapter 1.
Author's Notes:
So what'd ya think? C&C would be tremendously appreciated. I know my
writing isn't up to par with most people on this list, but I'm trying
to get better. The first idea that I plotted out for this story seemed
kind of weak so, I've changed it...a lot. The story now begins, just
a few days before the Androids arrive. And a few month after Ranma's
& Akane's failed wedding.
This whole idea came by me when I was watching the breaking point. I
realized that both Ranma and Ryouga were superb Martial Artists, but
they seemed to be in opposite poles. Ranma has the edge in speed,
chi-manipulation, and skill. While Ryouga has the edge in strength,
endurance, and his huge reservoir of ki, though his control over it
leaves much to be desired.
But what if they were to fuse? Using the Patora earrings, what kind
of warrior would these two become?
Well that's all for now. I'll have chapter 2 out soon. (I hope)
