Actually, believe it or not, this was once done in a TV series idea that
never went beyond
the pilot (I think on ABC) that I remember seeing back in the 1970s. This
poor guy,
30-something, married with kids, fell into the Fountain of Youth in
Florida. The odd
thing is that the spring worked on him like a Jusenkyou spring; cold water
would turn him
into a pre-teen kid, and hot water would restore him to adulthood. Does
anyone else
remember seeing this show?
Actually yes, Jurai. It was a rather interesting live
action Saturday morning show, with a child star who was fairly
famous at the time. As I recall, the actor who played the part
of the 30 year old man was bald, and one of the running gags in
the show was how grateful he was to get a full head of hair out
of the curse.
I can't recall the name of the show, but I've started
searching for it on the net, and with luck, will find it.
And for what it's worth, the change was caused by
the Spring, but the temperature of the water didn't matter.
His changes (after being dunked) were at random, and usually
came at the most embarrassingly possible time.
That's all for now, until I can find a web site
referencing the show.
It was called "Big John, Little John" (I still remember some of the
theme song -- it goes something something, blah blah... 'and that magic
water/was the thing that made him shrink. Big John, Little John, what a
way to grow/ Big John, Little John, goes from high to low.') ^_^
Anyway that show, and any other Saturday morning cartoon or live-action
kids show from the '50's through the '80's can be found at
http://www.yesterdayland.com. It's a great site to visit if you want to
re-live your childhood, or find info and/or links for really obscure
cartoons. ^_^
