<snip a really good story>

Well, I finished reading this. Overall, I would have to say that
reading this made me feel just like I was reading the manga. And since
Area 88 is one of my all-time favorite manga, that's a huge compliment.
^_^ The updating to the 90's doesn't really detract from the story.
Although, making Mick a Gulf War vet instead of a Vietnam vet somehow
doesn't quite ring true to me. There's definitely a lot more baggage
associated with Vietnam that the Gulf War can't really approximate. But
I guess there's no other way to keep his age about the same.

I don't know much about military aircraft, but you write with enough
authority on the subject that I still understand most of the
terminology. Actually, reading Area 88 was the one thing that ever
inspired me to try to learn a little about airplanes and jets. I
watched a lot of documentary programs on TV just so I could visualize
everything that was going on.

I'm really wondering where you're planning to go with this one. So far
it's pretty much a day in the life at Area 88, one that could have taken
place at any time during the first few manga volumes (prior to the land
carrier/nuke under Area 88 story). While there's nothing wrong with
that, I do hope you have a larger story for us. But since I've yet to
be disappointed with anything I've read of yours, I'll wait impatiently
for chapter 2.
