This is a very, very interesting idea.  Knowing
this is a revision makes it hard for me to say that
I think you glossed over the training in the village 
too much so you could get to "the kicker": Ranma
and the Tribe falling into the Spring of 
Incredibly Nubile Young Girl. :)  Ryoko as a character
doesn't seem fleshed out enough for me to say wheter
or not I like her.  Any chance the Saotomes
are related to Kyosuke Kasuga?
