For the same reason it hasn't been applied to Soun.  There's a *big* difference
between two engagements and one, even not counting the few extra engagements in
the anime.

Here's a challenge: Write a story where Soun engages Akane to several different
boys.  It has to be Akane, specifically (otherwise we'd just have one
engagement per daughter), and no fair using alternate universes.
