Given Akane has this almost unlimited power, why don't you add a 

limit

to that power. Having Ranko mess up the wish is good, but add to that 

a 

serious consequence for each wish that continually builds up either 

for

the genie or for the user of the ring. 

A degree of restriction would be a good method of control, when it 

comes to

toying around with non-trival issues, such as emotion and mortality. 

Like "No

wishing for Ranma to fall in love with who-who" BUT the wisher CAN wish 

for

Ranma and her to be married, since it won't affect their feelings for 

each

other at all. No wishing for death either, but like with the Mr. 

Principal,

simpler methods can be done. Or have the person be wished into sleep. 

^_-

But for anything else, make it no limits. After all, no restrictions 

would

easily create headaches for everyone. ESPECIALLY for Ranma himself. 

With no

restrictions, wishes would be potentially lot worse than having 

restrictions.

Imagine Happosai wishing for every panty in the world- thus creating a 

HUGE

load of undies that would bury Nermia, or Kuno wishing for a numerous 

dates

with BOTH Ranma-onna and Akane, while both simmering in anger and being 

unable

to do anything about. Nabiki wishing for unlimited amount of cash 

(which would

create severe inflation and bankurpting of stores across the nation 

when their

cash is being rechanneled back to Nabiki).

Of course, What would happen if Ryoga found out?...

i.e the life of the genie is used
up, the life of the user is used up, for each good wish, one bad wish 

is 

done, the ring steals the personality of the genie (making Ranko 
permanent and no Ranma) etc. so that at least the ring has more value
rather than just being Ranko's home and cause for being a genie.

I have to disagree with you here.  I personally would rather the hints 

of

the mysterious stanger disappear.  Instead of worrying over who gets 

the

ring (and control of Ranma) and then how they get outsmarted (which 

seems

to be the only way to defeat a cleaver evil person with ultimate 

power) 

I agree. Having a bad person in the story trying to impose control over 

Ranma

seems to be highly contrived idea to me. And highly unpractical in 

manga

version, which this story is being patterned after, at least to me. 

Regardless

of how events occurs in Ranma 1/2, it's usually to get RID of Ranma, or 

defeat

him- rather than taking control of his life.
Not to mention that having a bad person bent on using him as a genie 

for his

own evil means would ruin the overall comedical nature of the story 

(which is

progressing rather nicely). Unless you can have Ranma deliberatly 

twisting

around his wishes in a comeidcal manners.

Good point.  Don't make the Bad guy the central part of the story.  Keep 
him in, but make him just as bad as the rest of the bunch.  Maybe he 
just chose Ranma because the ring only works on SOD Girl victims, and he 
already tried Herb... heh heh. ^_^

I would rather see how Akane deals with having the world at her 

fingertips

(what is the point of anything then?) and Ranma and Akane's 

relationship

with the control she has. I think the character interaction has much 

more

promise than conflict over the ring and Ranma's dealing with slavery 

to

someone he hates.  Slavery to someone he care about is more 

interesting

to deal with.

Again, I'd agree. I'm more interested in how Ranma would react to this. 

After

all, Ranma has completly lost control of her life as Ranma-onna. If 

there's

anything he hates the most, it's the loss of his control over his life. 

Like

Matthew mentioned, Ranma won't take it kindly to being a slave to a 

girl he

cares about.

ENT!  About the only good thing Ranma could find about this situation 
would be that it's Akane who presently wields the ring, and not someone 
who would try to destroy, humiliate, or control Ranma.  Cologne getting 
her hands on the ring could be a _Bad_ Thing.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of this, however it goes.

Me too. I'm looking forward to future issues. I may give some C&C 

later, but

for now, I simply love the story! Especially with Ranma messing up 

Akane's

wishes like trying to swim and being able to cook. ^_-

My condolences to the Tendos.  Remember, Akane's coooking is now equal 
to Kasumi's, in the worst possible way.
