Brian, I like the basic premise here, a lot.  Ranam's gone, no one knows 
why, and the rest of the crew begins to suffer the effects of the chaos 
that normally centers on him.

While I've seen the idea crop up in other fics, I don't _think_ I've 
seen it as a central theme (and please, folks--don't send me the titles 
of a dozen fics that fit the bill--as you can see, I'm still over a 
month behind, here).

Looking forward tothe rest of this, and if it's in the box already, 
great!
