  I agree. Having a bad person in the story trying to impose control 
over Ranma
  seems to be highly contrived idea to me. And highly unpractical in 
manga

<shrug>Where the ring came from, needed to be explained.  That's the 
only reason that bit is in there.  I'll use it, but not for a long time 
to come.

twisting

  Again, I'd agree. I'm more interested in how Ranma would react to 
this. After
  all, Ranma has completly lost control of her life as Ranma-onna. If 
there's
  anything he hates the most, it's the loss of his control over his
