written in French. There might be a translation, but "e" is even
more frequent in that language, so...

Actually, it's an American novel called "Gatsby".  Not to be confused 
with "The Great Gatsby" though I believe they're by the same writer.

The novel was named "Gadsby" and was written in 1939 by Ernest Vincent.
