My sister wrote a story nearly identical to this months ago. But in her
story, Misty fell down a well. Here's the message she sent me in
December. Since then, this story has been posted on several webpages
and (I think) on the Pokemon fics ml. BTW, her e-mail address had
changed since then, and is now dangermouse42@yahoo.com.

Hee hee! Tell me what you think!!
Steph...
It was a beautiful day in the Pokmon world. The sun was shinning
and the pidgey's were chirping. The world was in perfect order. Ash
relaxed against a rock, watching Squirtle and Charmander run around
thourgh half-closed lids. It had been a long day. They had been
attacked by Team Rocket twice and succeded in getting rid of them each
time. Brock was busy brushing his new Volpex. Ash had given up trying
to help him. He had gotten burned more times than he had been
electrocuted today, and that was a lot. Misty had wandered off,
interested in exploring the area they were now in. She was looking for
landmarks to try to decide where they were exactly. Yeah, they were
lost again. Oh, well. It beat being in school. Suddenly the silence
was broken.
"PIKA PIKA PIKA PIKA!!! PIKA-CHUUUU"
Ash leapped up as Pikachu bounded into the clearing.
"What is it Pikachu?" asked the trainer in training as he got down
on one knee. "What happened?"
"Pika pika pika..."
"Uh hu..."
"Pika pikachu!!!"
"Oh my gosh! Pikachu are you serious? Misty fell down the well?"
"Pika!"
Ash stood up and streched.
"Okay, good. One less mouth to feed on our limited budget, right
Brock?"
"That's right Ash!"
Pikachu nodded, and all three lifted their packs (after rilfling
through Misty's belongings and taking all that was worth anything) and
started back on their Pokmon journy. Who knows what great adventures
lay in wait for Ash and his friends? The world may never know.

Broken mirror, a million shades of light
The old echo fades away
But just you and I can find the answer and then
We can run to the end of the world
