Tears started to flow from her eyes again. "What's wrong with me?"

 <opens mouth, pauses> Rhetorical question, right?

For us... but seeing your own faults/problems is not as easy as finding
fault in others :) Damn, that was deep. :)

     Shinji had just started to grapple with an enemy Eva drone when he
responded. "I don't know, she's always seemed to know all the secrets of
this game." He thrust upwards with his progressive knife and gutted his
enemy, causing the multicolored guts to ooze out onto the ground.

 Well, technically he does know now.  She told him, I think.

She was about to spill the fact that her grandmother was the Eva designer
in 0:8, but got interrupted.

     A loud bang was heard as the hotel room door was kicked open and a
short woman with short black hair stormed in. "Kaji, you god-dammed
mother-fucker!"

 Maya's hair is brown, the last time I checked.

Um... I'm basing this on the manga? :)

     Ritsuko smiled and placed a hand on Maya's shoulder. "Thanks, Maya.
You're always there when I need you."

 <deeeeep sigh> I *know* what's coming.

 Maya Deserves Better Dammit!

Actually, Maya at least had a desire to be like Ritsuko in Eva (a strong
teacher/student relationship)... maybe even a desire to be loved by her,
so it's not too far off the real Maya, just more toys involved.

     Rei shook her head. "I know I'm technically a clone, but not of
your mother."

     "Huh? But..."

     "I was created during Second Impact. If anyone could be called my
mother, it would be Misato."

 This ... this, on the other hand, is a truly f---ed up development.

Now I'm messing with the 'real' Eva universe... will my madness never
end.

Eventually... but at least two books to go. :)

   Ranko leaned in and kissed Ukyo again. Mostly she wanted to know if
the same feeling was there again. It was.
   At this moment, being the worse possible moment for them to do so,
Ranma and Akane came into the restaurant looking for Ranko. They found
her, but neither of them expected to find her like this.
