Well, when I am comming up with a name, I usually look around for 
words that
go together. For example, right now I'm sitting in front of my 
computer. I
can see my half-life, MechWarrior, SimCity2000, RandMcNally Atlas, 
Nomad,
Saga Frontier, and Love Will Grow CD's strewn around my desk. Now, 
let's
come up with a good last name, hmm?
Take any number of sylables (sp?) or letters from those names, and 
presto!

Rariad.  Trent Rariad. How about it? I got that name from combining
RandMcNally, Sim City, and Nomad. Trent just seemed to supplement 
that name
well.

If all else fails, you can just get a book of names....

Or you can open any large phone book at random.  Don't like that 
name?  Repeat until you get one you like. (this also works for good 
guys as well)
