Also, if you bring in the Chinese Amazons . . .the
Chinese don't like the Japanese very much now. They
went out their way to kill them in WWII. (The Rape of
Nanking, Section 73 (biological and chemical warfare
experiments on Chinese people. etc. Section 73(hmmm. I
may have the number wrong. I don't have by library
handy right now) But it did exist. There are a couple
of new book just on Japanese Bio-warfare out now)
Conducted near where the Amazons are supposed to live
in the manga/anime. :( ) If Shan Pu shows up saying
"Ranma, you I kill." She's going to want his head on a
pointy stick. And if she can get Soun, Akane, Kasumi
and any other Japanese in the kill-zone that would be a
bonus.

Actually I doubt that, even if the village was affected by the
Japanese (who did _not_ get that far IIRC), the Joketsuzoku would be
terribly hard on a group of Japanese _women_ and their pet. 'Poo
might take offence to getting clobbered by an outsider and call blood
feud as she did on TOS, but if Nodoka played her cards right otherwise
they might have been adopted.

Of course treatment of Japanese _men_ might be a different story
altogether if the Joketsuzoku had any experience with the IJA (Kiss of
Marriage getting interpeted as 'Trank him, hamstring or kneecap him,
break his arms/hands if he proves annoying, and drag him home to rape
at leisure' comes to mind).

Plus, the Chinese were still out allies. So the
occupation forces might look the other way while she
sliced and diced.

No way. Unless Shampoo convinces them that she's ROC affiliated (not
out of the question come to think of it, I can see Cologne investing
in multiple passports) she's Persona non Grata anywhere under US
control. Besides, the US had a vested interest in being Benevolent
Towards The Conquered, so letting an oh so barbaric blood feud go on
would be imprudent.

and second, I can't see Cologne of all
people towing the party line and hating a far-off island because
that isalnd
declared war on a government she barely pays lip-service to. Hey,
she didn't
live to be 200 (ok, 250 in this era) for nothing!

True enough, but if she (or any other Joketsuzoku of influence) had
family 'Back East' then personal feelings come into play.

I can't see the amazons changing too much as a result of the war.
They are
too independant and remote. Change them for another reason if you
like (hey,
when did China occupy Tibet? and did they occupy Qinghai at the same
time?
I'm pretty sure they did...)

Actually, the ROC ruled Qinghai (as much as it ruled anything) since
the Manchus got ran off. Now the Joketsuzoku may or may not be happy
about the PLA running around so things could go that way (although I'm
convinced Cologne talked Mao into a 'Gentlepersons Agreement'
concerning De Jure and De Facto autonomy, but that's just me).
