Ignoring the simmering debate, I'm sure I can explain why.

I had asked a fic author this particular question few years ago. Apparently
the reason why lemon fanfics got its name was by the 'taste' and juice content
of the fic. We know how real lemons tastes (when mixed with sugar, of course,
AND without sugar), so it can apply to hentai fanfics- in a way, it's
extremely jucy and sweet, and bitter at the same time. I mean, you're
describing sex in rather graphic detail, which may sicken some people.

However, I have no idea about how lime fanfics got its name, though. I can't
tell, because I haven't tasted lime before. ^_^;;
Maybe because they're so bitter that nobody want to really comment on its
taste, thus avoiding the taste altogether? That would fit in lime fics-
dealing with sex and related activities, but not in graphic detail...
