One thing that kinda bugged me was him kissing Kodachi. It always
seemed
that to Ranma, kissing was sort of representative of a higher level of
relationship with <insert fiancee name here>, and I have a hard time
seeing
him using that as a casual tactic. Of course, that could just be me,
and he
_is_ attempting a complete behavioral change.

If Shampoo gets involved, I'd expect her to assume that it's a
curse/potion
of some sort (after all, that's what she always uses, someone else may
as
well), and may very well drag Cologne into the situation to come up
with a
cure (of course, death tends to cure a lot of illnesses). In any case,
she
has enough tendancies to clobber his other real fiancees that she'd
likely
go ballistic and send anyone he touched to the hospital.

For Akane, this of course confirms all her worst fears. Ranma would
have to
have some airtight explanation, and a -lot- of time to explain it to
her, if
you don't want her to be permanently scarred by it all.

As for Ukyo... she would have been at the mock trial, and I think it
wouldn't take her long to put 2 and 2 together. While I can't really
say
how she'd react, for some reason I feel that she'd be the one most
likely to
play along and help Ranma pull this off.

Okay, question 1 is: Would Ranma really be able to do this, especially
kissing Kodachi? I don't have a real problem with it, but I suppose
it's a consideration.

<Shrug> No, Ranma doesn't really have the guts to do something like
this. If he tried, he'd be so nervous that he'd end up fouling it up.
About the only way to keep in IC is to use a magic plot device. But if
it's necessary for the story to work, then IC considerations should
probably be ignored as much as is required.

Question 2 is: How does he explain everything
afterwards?

He can't. I mean the plan is just basically stupid and will confirm
everyone's worst suspicions of his nature. Perhaps the only thing that
would save him, is that since he's actually guilty, the contrary nature
of those around will make them assume his innocence. Even then, he may
find Tofu or Cologne pushing his prudery pressure point.
