Another excellent installment. However two points that need clarification
1. Ranko was taken on a scholars trip, how did she become an expert in
martial arts? Ranma got his skills from his quantum band counterpart.
Scholar-Ranko got involved with martial arts when she was in Europe, one of the
divergences between her and Scholar-Ranma. Since that first exposure (she became quite
good at Savate) she studied martial arts as she travelled with her father, and he allowed
it as long as it did not interfere with her other studies. When Scholar-Ranma briefly
possessed her through the Resonator (in one of the earlier chapters), he learned this.
2. In the original Ranma series, Ranma and compatriots are the best martial
artists in the world. If the Ranma, Nabiki, Kodachi, Akane of the empire are
at the same level they would be better than their coaches, trainers or any
other martial arts masters in that world.
Well, the trainers that they have at the Academy are some of the best in the Empire, but
they are limited in that they do not have the almost inhuman levels of skill that someone
like Cologne has. For now, they are sufficient to train the teenaged heroes. I would be
hard-pressed to identify how good someone like Ranma would be when it comes to skill
rating though (5th Dan? 6th Dan? Higher?). When things move along a bit more in the
plotline, then the trainers at the Academy will not be able to teach them anymore.
