I just got word of this. As the person who wrote the poem for Libby's
site, all I have to say on it is this:
In a world where what we are doing is ethically gray to begin with,
going overboard with charges of lawsuits and such is rediculous. If
anything, it is the original authors (in this case, Takahashi and
CLAMP) who should be offended, if anyone.
As for the revamped poem,
I would call it on the same level as sampling. It's too obvious that
it was copied, and the author could probably have come up with
something more original with the source material, if given that. The
'poem' lost a lot of its potential bite by being copied, and probably
could have been better if the most of the Opening Poem hadn't been
"sampled".
