Hi,
Just a little IMO. my comments ## (as is you couldn't
tell ^_^)
- B) Taking someone else's plot
is really no
better or worse than taking someone else's
characters
and using them
in your own plot.
##My observation is that plots are unique depending
ENTIRELY on SPECIFIC details, NOT in general outline.
As a example, Golden Age Science Fiction Writers:
E.E.(Doc)Smith and Edward Hamilton. <LOUD CHEERING>
Both writers had a reputation for LARGE epics, Planet
sized space ships, star fleets with hundreds of
thousands of ships, scientific breakthroughs in an
afternoon etc. Yet each story was DIFFERENT, despite
these similarities.[ You'd be surprised how many ways
you can have galaxy spanning wars with steely eyed,
iron-jawed heroes. ^_^] Or, horror stories.
Monster/blood/death/screaming.<ewwww> etc. There are a
LOT of similarities in PLOT. Still a different story.
## I will also go out on a limb for fanfiction in
general. Fanfiction supports authors, publishers and
distributers by popularizing and advocating
manga/anime. I found out about anime first from
fanfiction. I would NEVER have bought my first Ranma
video had I not first read and enjoyed a Ranma fanfic
on the RAAC. I still depend on the RAAC and the
fanfiction community to help me find new anime and
manga. Fanfiction could be viewed as the cyber
equivalent of tee-shirts and caps that advertise
brand-name products.
