I've been catching up on the FFML posts, and I happened to come across
a thread about a searchable fic archive.

Has anyone ever thought about setting up an SQL database for fanfics?
It would be a simple task to create a webpage that interfaced with such
a database (been there, done that :) ).  If anyone isn't or hasn't been
doing this, I would (I could probably write the perl frontends in a day 
or two).  Only thing is, I don't have the gazillion megs I'm sure such 
an archive would require (i.e. if you can provide space, I'll code and 
write the database)...my paltry 50mb I have on my webhost provider would 
definitely not be enough (imho).

The idea is that the database would assign you a login and password,
and you could then upload fics to the archive which would be processed
and indexed into the database (I've already written these mechanisms and
it would be easy to adapt them to large text files)

If anyone is interested in such a project (hint hint, server space with
an appropriate SQL server (mySQL, etc)) let me know.
