Perhaps I should make things more clear, 1. Ranma has the contents of
Genma's backpack:

(I quote from the first episode)

"The child reverently carried ...  , and a very heavy backpack, the size
of two large ones."

Two== Ranma carried the entire contents of Genma's backpack home.
Any papers he might have kept, address, etc. are all in there. It's
not quite a TARDIS, but who knows what is in there?

 2. Cologne helped out, in fact the trip was all set
before Ranma left Joketsuzoku...

Unless
Genma told him before he died(although for what reason I can imagine, it's
obvious in the manga that Ranma didn't know that Nodoka existed or where

she

lived). As for the phonebook theory, ie. Ranma finding her through a
phonebook. He doesn't even know where she live, she could live in Tokyo,
Hokkaido etc etc. What is he going to do, search every phonebook in that
area to see if he can find her?? Of course, Saotome could be a very

uncommon

name, which would help narrow his search down, but he still would have a

lot

of people to go through before he finds the right Saotome; Nodoka. And I
doubt he knows how to use a phonebook anyway, I can't imagine Genma

teaching

him what a phonebook even is.

   While it is possible for Ranma to find Nodoka, the fic has him finding
her too easily. I suggest making him work to find Nodoka.

This story is written. When I submitted it in December to the FFML, I
welcomed suggestions on changing things around. I'm not going to
make any drastic changes now. What I was really looking for was
commentary from the people who did C&C earlier on the rewrite and
the direction the story was going. Another author is working on a
prologue, where some of the questions you bring up will be explained
there.

The first draft of part one was written in August of 1998, I want to
get on with it.

   Also, the sailor senshi Ranma thing has been done a wee bit too often,
you might want to think of adding something more to spice up the story.

I won't argue. I think there is a lot more than Ranma joins the Sailor
Senshi in the 4+ episodes I posted, but I respect your right to voice
your opinion.
