Are you sure you have the right author and series?  the reason I ask is that
in UF Philip Moyer wrote himself in as a Genom exec who bascily survives the
end of Genom as a force of terror and is leading the company into an alliance
with the WDF and a new era of peace.

Phil Moyer writes the Serendipity stories (still working on Part 3, which
promises to be about 1M in size), but is not directly involved with UF.
