My absolute favorite bit of anime is something that most people don't
really refer to as anime.  That is Robotech.

For those who don't know, Robotech is an amalgam of three disparate
anime.  The "first generation" of Robotech, starring Rick, Lisa, and
Minmei, is based on Macross, starring Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay.  This is
my favorite part of Robotech, although I like Dana Sterling, too.

In an effort to fit the three stories together, some details were
changed in the telling of the story.  I'm not sure what; I've never seen
Macross, other than "Macross: Do You Remember Love?", a movie that
*also* retold the story of Macross the anime and changed quite a few
details in the process.

Confused yet?  :)

Anyway, my *absolute* favorite character is Lisa Hayes.  Last year, at
A-Kon, I came across a CD that starred Misa, Lisa's Japanese name.  I
bought it, put it in my car's CD player during the drive back - and
found that it was a radio drama.  Two songs, but the rest Misa
interacting with various Macross members doing who-knows-what.

I tried to find some sort of translation, a script of the radio drama
somewhere on the net.  No such luck.  And my knowledge of Japanese is
only as good as someone who watches a lot of anime but hasn't ever taken
a class.

So I've decided to try and get a collaborative effort together.  I call
it the Misa Project.

I want to know if anyone here would like to be in on it.  Basically it
would be an effort to translate the CD.  This would rely on my
transcription skills as I attempt to convert what I hear on the CD to
some kind of phonetic equivalent.  Then I'd need some help translating
that to coherent English.

Anyone taken a few semesters of Japanese, has some modest spare time,
and would like to help me out?  The more, the merrier; I envision this
as a group project.  Er, and the only compensation you would receive is
the satisfaction of a job well done and my eternal gratitude.  :)
