Loved?  Judging by the theme song, that was the same show!  (At least,
that song *perfectly* describes the overall plot of the "Monkey Magic"
that has been airing here for the past few months.)

You know, I've never heard of an American who's ever seen this show. Is it
true? If so, you people all missed out! I guess we only got it because the
BBC had it or something .....

My guess?  (Warning: minor spoiler ahead.)  Someone did one dub titled
"Monkey", which you saw; someone else did another dub of the same show,
titled it "Monkey Magic", and named the lead character "Kongo".
(Although that is a name he did not pick up for a few episodes; he
started off being called "Stone Monkey".)
