I've got to agree with E.L.L. on this one. Granted, I am new here,
and granted, I've posted a sum total of two fics to the list. But you
don't need a whole lot of experiance to know when something's this off.
I'm not going to bore you to tears with a rephrased version of
E.L.L.'s tirade. Frankly, you guys didn't listen last time, and I
wouldn't expect you to listen now. But I will say this.
First; C & C is not a two way street. I may not speak for everyone
(Hell, I'm sure I speak for almost no one) but when you start to comment
on someone else's work, you should try to do it with as little prejudice
about that author as possible. You are judging their work. NOT them.
Second; Harsh comments kill new writers. There is no debate about
that. Any author knows that is can take a while before a thick skin can
develop. So unless they ask for brutal honesty, try to keep the name
calling to a minimum.
Third; This is really important, so listen up. Who here does
absoutely nothing but read fan-fics and write them? I you said yes,
congradulations, you are officially a world class loser. This list is
made of people. And people have lives boys and girls. So as hard as this
is to believe, their worlds aren't going to revolve around you. They
will revolve around them. It's human nature.
Fourth; This is a personal pet pev of mine. On my first post to the
FFML, I recived a grand total of five replies. And on all of those five
replies was one simple comment. "You didn't give the original author
credit." Nothing about how I wrote, or if it was good, just "You didn't
give the original author credit." And IF I hadn't given the author
credit, I would've just left it at that. But I had. THREE TIMES. So what
I'm getting to here is, if you refuse to complain about something that
happened in the story itself, make DAMN sure that you know you're right.
Thank you for listinig to my tirade, please return to your original
reading and writing positions.
Wondering if anyone will notice,
Lone Wolf
