There is interest for the darkside that some people would want to 
explore. It might be wrong to have evil pokemon trainers and burning 
villages, but some people might argue also that it is wrong to have 
Pokemon (just like animals) fight for sport. Which is IMO a dark side 

of 

the Pokemon world. 

  Don't go any farther or you'll mess the point of the fic I'm writing. 
  In the Pokemon world, it is the exception rather than the rule that 
trainers actually take care of their Pokemon: Ash (although sometimes to 
the point of naivity/stupidity... cough, Charizard), Brock (Pokemon 
breeder), Misty (maybe, especially concerning Psyduck), Erika (Gloom's 
her best friend, kinda like Ash and Pikachu are)... and, to an extent, 
Team Rocket (Meowth doesn't have a master and is more of a partner). 
Gary is an unknown since we never see him use Pokemon at all. Otherwise, 
Pokemon are a tool, a means to an end. A very touchy subject indeed. 
  Hmm.
