forget to forget about me. Oh well. Here it is...Part 2...

If Thats The Way You Want It.
Part 2

The sun rose over the horizon sending its warming light over
the residents of Nerima. One such resident, Ukyo Kuonji,
felt these rays caress her face and gently woke. She rubbed
her eyes and sat up, still to tired to actually get up.
Working up the energy to sit on the edge of her bed, she
slid over and rubbed her eyes once again. She didnt recall
ever actually going to bed though. The last thing she
remembered was Ranchan visiting. Or was that a dream? She
racked her mind to recall all of it. She remembered hearing
a thump, going to investigate, and finding Ranma on his
knees proposing to her. Then he turned out to be a girl and
had a nasty cut on her head and then thought she was a girl.

That was when it ended.

She hauled herself to her feet and nodded sadly. "Of course
it was only a dream." She said, dejectedly. "Where else
would he do that for me. Then he turned out to actually be a
girl."

She left her room, sliding her door shut behind her and
headed for the bathroom. She slid the door shut and took off
her robe. Then she began to take off her pajamas
<Waitaminute!> she thought. <I didnt go to bed in my robe!>

Then she recalled how tired she had been when she had come
home. "Heh, I must have accidentally put it on before I went
to bed." She said.

She noticed that the furo was still warm. "Dammit, Konatsu.
I told you to stay." She said.
Then she shrugged it off. "Oh well." She finished getting
undressed, sat down on the bench and began to soap up.

Meanwhile downstairs

Ranma was busily preparing breakfast. It was the least she
could do to repay Ukyo for
letting her stay. She remembered watching a cooking channel
where the chef was preparing an American breakfast. She had
always wanted to try that but never got around to asking
Kasumi. The next best way was to prepare it herself. She
mixed the eggs with ham, cheese and onions and put the bacon
on the grill to let it cook. Then she poured the egg mix
onto the grill next to the bacon. Her speed helped seeing as
she was cooking everything at once.

She briefly heard the water come on. Ukyo must be getting
bathed. She looked up at the clock on the wall. It was
almost time for the restaurant to open. Only another hour.
She turned around and flipped the omelet, thinking. <I hope
Ucchan's fainting was a one-time thing. I dont want it to
happen again.>

She turned back around as Ukyo came down. "Morning sleepy
head," Ranma said cheerfully. "Hungry?"

Ukyo looked up in shock. <It wasnt a dream?> she thought.
<Oh no!> She forced a smile on her face and said as
cheerfully as possible. "M-mornin' Ranchan. What's cooking?"

"It's called an omelet. I learned how to cook it watching a
TV show." She said scooping some on to a plate. "Here, try
it."

Ukyo took the plate warily and carefully sampled a portion
of the dish. She didnt know of it was poisoned or not.
After all, Ranma wasnt his usual self. After deciding that
there were no drugs in it she commented, "Wow! It's good."

Ranma smiled cutely as Ukyo devoured it. "Glad you like it,
Ucchan," she said as she cleaned up the mess.

Ukyo took the plate to the sink and put it in. She thought
about the way Ranma just smiled and grimaced. Ranma was
either going crazy, hit on the head by Akane orshe didnt
want to think about Ranma willingly wanting to be a girl.
She came out of the kitchen and watched Ranma getting ready
to leave. "See 'ya Ranchan!" she called.

"Bye Ucchan!" Ranma called back as she walked out the door.

Ukyo frowned. Why was he acting like that? And why didnt
she change? She racked her mind over and over trying to find
out why. After about five minutes she gave up.
Whatever it was, it would take time to figure out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ranma shook her head as she left the Ucchan. She didnt want
to do this to her best friend but if she knew, she might
tell Akane. That would ruin Ranma's plan. Her next stop was
to the place where she hid her clothes. She smiled at the
reaction Akane would have.
She probably would get malletted for it but she didnt care.
If this worked she and Akane could finally Ranma banished
that thought from her mind. She needed to think like a girl
for this to work. At least she wasnt enjoying thisyet.

A familiar bell interrupted her from her reverie. She spun
around in time to get the front wheel of a bike lodged in
her face. "Gurk"

"Airen?" Shampoo asked. "Aiyah! What you do under Shampoo's
bike?"

"Mumph." Ranma answered.

Shampoo quickly removed her bike from Ranma and let her
answer. Ranma couldnt act like a girl in front of Shampoo
or Cologne unless she wanted to die. "I was going home.
Why?" Ranma asked suspiciously.

"Shampoo want know if you want ramen for dinner? Special
recipe."

Ranma was more than a little reluctant. "Well"

"Please?" Shampoo said, brimming her eyes with fake tears.
"Shampoo give to all family."

Ranma couldnt refuse that. Plus, it was Akane's night to
cook. "Sure. I dont want to go to the hospital tonight."
Ranmas stomach grumbled in agreement.

"Aiyah! Shampoo so happy! But, why Ranma girl?" Shampoo
asked.

"I got splashed on the way home from Ucchan's." Ranma
replied. "I haven't gotten any hot water since then."

"What Airen doing at stupid spatula girls?" Shampoo asked
suspiciously. "Never mind.
Come to Neko-Hanten and get hot water, yes?"

Ranma shook her head. "Can't. I gotta get home. Mr. Tendo
and Pop are probably worried about me."

Shampoo gave Ranma a quick glomp and got back on her bike.
"Okay, bye bye!"

Ranma watched her speed off and was relieved. At least she
wasnt going to kill her today. Rubbing the new lump on her
head and getting her bearings, Ranma headed off to get her
clothes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hiyah!!" CRASH!! "Hiyah!!" CRASH!! Akane was in the dojo,
venting her frustration in the only way she knew how.
Breaking bricks. She walked over to the last two and set
them in the rubble of the previous bricks and got ready to
smash them. She raised her fist and stopped. "Why did I get
all sentimental over that jerk last night?" she asked
herself as she put the bricks back. She didnt feel like
destroying them. "After all, he went over to
Ukyo's. Probably to proclaim his love for her."

She grabbed the broom and began to clean up her mess. "But
why was he a girl?" she asked herself. He even sounded like
a girl on the phone. "I still dont know where he went
yesterday either. He was gone all day. Probably with
Shampoo." She grumbled, snapping the broom in half. She used
the lower half and a dustpan to clean up the rest.

After dumping it she sat down by the koi pond. "But he
sounded exactly like a girl. Why?" she smacked her fist on
her head to try and think. "I wouldnt be surprised if he
came home in a dress."

"Ranma!" Genma shouted from inside, causing Akane to
startle. "What are you wearing?!?!"

Akane listened intently for the reply but it was to faint.
Genma's was loud and clear. "Well, take it off now! I dont
want my boy prancing around in a skirt!"

Akane fell in the pond. She hauled her self out and ran
inside. When she got to the corner she stopped and
eavesdropped.

"But father, I'm a girl and I'm tired of being a tomboy."
Ranma said.

Akane nearly fell over in shock. She ran over to them and
grabbed Ranma by the shoulders. "What!?" she shouted
noticing Ranma's clothes. She was wearing the black skirt
and red blouse. "Ranma you are a boy. You have always been a
boy."

Ranma glared at her. "Akane, I am NOT a boy." She said. The
ferocity in Ranma's voice made Akane back off. She smiled.
She could make this convincing.

"Ranma?" she asked in a calmer tone of voice as Genma went
of to get a kettle. "Did you hit your head?"

Ranma smiled and shook her head. "No. Ukyo thought that too.
I've been a girl and will always been a girl."

Akane blinked. "Say what?"

"You heard me."

Genma came in with the steaming kettle in his hand, ready to
pour it on Ranma. "This should jog your memory, boy." He
said dumping the contents over Ranma. Both Akane and Genma
went into shock when Ranma didnt change.

"Ow! Thats hot!" Ranma screamed. "And I'm a girl." She
shook the water out of her pigtail and looked at the other
two. "What?"

Genma passed out and Akane was stuttering.
"Youchangenotboydress"

Ranma glared at this and kicked her father. "Thanks for
ruining my outfit, jerk. Now I have to change it and my
bandage." She shouted, pointing at her forehead. "I'll be in
the bath."

Akane kept stuttering.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The wind whistled through her hair as Shampoo sped along
toward the Tendo Dojo. She was confident that her plan would
work this time. It had to. She had gotten the recipe from
the old amazon hermit woman. That woman had the correct
recipes to all the secret amazon potions and had given
Shampoo the perfect hate potion. She patted her pocket and
made sure she still had it.

Shampoo realized that most of her failures were because of
either someone else eating the ramen or ingesting the spice,
or someone accidentally throwing it away. She would make
sure that those things wouldnt happen if she had to force
feed Ranma herself. Plus, she would enjoy doing it if she
had to.

Finally nearing the Dojo, Shampoo ground the brakes of her
bike and skidded to a halt. This plan had to go on without a
problem and Ranma had to eat the ramen. If he didnt the
plan would be ruined. But Ranma would eat the noodles if
Akane didnt mallet him into the ground.

Shampoo took the carton off her bike and bounded up to the
door. In a rare moment, Shampoo used the door instead of
ripping it apart and snuck inside. Since no one heard her
enter, she had the perfect opportunity to glomp onto Ranma.
Which she did. "Airen!"

This startled Ranma who began to pry her off. "Hey! Get
off'a me!" She shouted.
Shampoo released her and looked at her in confusion. "Why
Ranma no change to boy-type?" she asked. Shampoo noted that
Ranma had changed into her sundress.
Ranma looked around the room nervously. "ErI umthat is"
she stammered playing with her hair. She forgot that after
her bath she had taken her hair down so she began to play
with her skirt. "I mean"

Shampoo put her finger to Ranma's mouth to silence her. "Is
okay," she said. "Shampoo know why."

Ranma's face paled. "You-you-you do?" she asked, gulping.

Shampoo nodded and said, "Pervert girl hit you on the head
again, yes?" She shot a venomous glance at the girl in the
kitchen. "Now she trying to poison you."

Ranma resisted the urge to faint. That had been too close.
Ranma didnt want a homicidal Shampoo chasing her around.
"UhI g-guess. Yeah. Why dont you leave the box here and
I'll bring it in." she said taking the box from Shampoo and
scooting her out the door. "Ja ne Shampoo."

"'Night Ranma." She called happily. "Eat ramen with your
name on it, yes?"

Ranma nodded before sliding the door shut. "Hey, every one!
I've got dinner!"

Shampoo snuck over to the window that looked into the
kitchen and got a good view of the dining room. She was
going to make sure that Ranma ate the spiced noodles or
else.

"Ranma." Akane said in a shaky voice. "You know that those
are probably drugged." She pointed at the box. "Besides,
it's my night to cook and you said that you would eat my
cooking."

Ranma smiled sweetly. "Yes, I did, didnt I?" Akane's hopes
rose but Ranma continued. "But I said only if I could help.
You didnt let me."

Akane sagged. She found that she couldnt get mad at Ranma
now that he was acting like a girl, something Ranma was
eternally grateful for. "You're right Ranma. Besides, I
haven't even started yet. I couldnt find all the
ingredients. Let me get washed up and I'll be right back."

Ranma watched Akane leave and turned back to the kitchen.
What she saw made her realize how close she had come to
death. Sitting on the counter were a bottle of bleach, a box
of rat poison, and a bottle of cyanide. Ranma shook her head
and walked back into the dining room. "Hey all. Shampoo
brought over dinner."

Nabiki was having a fit trying to get Ranma to crack and
admit that he was acting like a girl for a reason. "C'mon
Ranma-chan. Taking that from Shampoo is like saying you'll
marry her."

Ranma shook her head. "Nabiki, I do like Shampoo," Ranma
began. Shampoo resisted the urge to run in and kiss Ranma
while Nabiki got ready to rub it in Ranma's face. "But as a
friend."

Shampoo felt her heart begin to break but remembered the
potion. Ranma would finally be rid of Akane and come running
to her. She giggled into her arm to muffle it.

Nabiki hung her head in defeat. Ranma was never going to
crack. She had tried everything possible ranging from saying
that it was Ranma's destiny to be a girl, to mentioning how
his mother would feel. She almost saw a wince there. "Fine
then." She sobbed. "See if I care."

Ranma shrugged demurely and set the box out of the way of
Soun's tears. (Joy I believe. Ranma talked Akane out of
cooking and he was going to live another day.) She reached
in and gave everyone a bowl and then took hers. She took off
the aluminum foil and grabbed her chopsticks and dug in.

---------------------------------------------------

"Why? Thump Why? Thump Why dammit?!" Ukyo shouted, each word
punctuated by her head slamming into her desk. She had
closed the Ucchan while trying to figure out why Ranma was
acting like a girl and it had been closed for most of the
day. She knew that it was either Akane's of Shampoo's fault
but she didnt know what either of them did.

"Okay," Ukyo began to herself, rubbing her forehead, "I know
that Ranma was hit, but not with a mallet. The gash on her
forehead is evidence of that. Besides, it sounded like he
ran into my door. Or was pushed." Ukyo hmmm'd to herself.
"And when he showed up, he wasnt wet and the gash was
fresh, so that rules out the koi pond."

She remembered hearing about the last time that happened and
was glad that she didnt have to deal with it. "But what
about Shampoo? She is the one who uses all those weird
potions and stuff."

Ukyo shook her head. Shampoo had vowed to kill Ranma if he
was a girl. When she found out that he was really a guy,
Shampoo just tacked on another arrangement. She never
revoked the kiss of death. But why? Shampoo loved Ranma.
That was evident enough in the way she acted around him.
Ukyo counted to ten before continuing.

Ukyo remembered Shampoo stopping by to gloat about something
as she put up the closed sign.

Flash back

Ukyo walked out of her restaurant obviously in deep thought.
Something was bothering her. "Sorry people," she called.
"The restaurant is closed today."

Most of the customers understood but a few voiced their
protests. "I'm sorry but another more important matter has
just come up. I'll let you know when I'm open again though."

She watched as most of the people walked a way grumbling and
felt a cold wind behind her. "What do you want, Shampoo?"
she asked.

Shampoo got off her bike and grabbed her delivery box. "See
box stupid spatula girl?" she asked.

Ukyo nodded. "What about it you hussy?"

Shampoo smiled a wicked smile. "Shampoo give Ranma what he
deserve. Shampoo give him special ramen with new spice. Bet
you no think of that."

Ukyo shrugged. Shampoo was always trying things like that,
and they always failed. "So what? I dont care." Ukyo said
waving the bubbly amazon off.

Shampoo turned up her nose as she got on her bike. "Spatula
girl just jealous." She said as she sped off.

End Flash back

The full force of Shampoo's words hit Ukyo. Shampoo wanted a
reason to kill Ranma. She had been leading him along all
this time. Her meager battle aura sprang to life.
"Thatthatperson" she spat. She was so angry that she
couldnt insult straight.

Ukyo ran out the door. She needed to get to Ranma or else he
was in deep trouble.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first thing Ranma felt was a dull tingling go throughout
her body. It started in her stomach and spread all over her
body from there. It was very uncomfortable and she set her
chopsticks down and wrapped her arms around her mid-section.
"Oohhhh" she groaned.

Kasumi looked up concerned. "Ranma-chan, are you all right?"
she asked.

Ranma shook her head. The throbbing had become a dull pain
and was increasing in intensity. "I-it hurts." She managed
to croak.

Akane was getting worried herself. She knew that Shampoo put
strange spices in her ramen but they were always love
spices. "Ranma, what's wrong?"

"The boy is just faking it." Genma growled. He was still
pissed off from the dress incident and Ranma putting her
hair down didnt help.

"Mr. Saotome!" Akane shouted. "Ranma is really in pain." She
looked back and saw tears coming from Ranma's eyes.

Ranma looked up and scanned the table. She saw Nabiki wisely
leave and Soun crying.
He had been crying ever since she had come home. Genma had
his back turned while Kasumi and Akane were looking
concerned. Ranma's eyes locked onto Akane's and her pain
stopped. Her eyes began to shimmer and a smile grew on her
face.

"Why are you looking at me like that Ranma?" Akane asked
nervously.

Shampoo pulled the bottle of spice out of her pocket. "Oh
no!" she shouted. She had the wrong spice. It was true love
spice. She jumped in the window and rushed toward Ranma.
"Ranma no look at Aka"

It was too late. Ranma did the unthinkable. She leapt over
the table grabbed Akane by the arm andbegan to shower her
with kisses. "I love you I love you I love you" Ranma
chanted between kisses.

Everyone was subdued and the only sound was the crickets
outside. Shampoo was the first one to snap out of the
trance. "Aiyah! Ranma no love Akane!" she cried. She ran
over to the red head and tried to pry her off. Ranma was
firmly attached. "Ranma love Shampoo, hate Akane."

Ukyo chose this time to come in. "Where's Ranchan?" she
asked frantically. "He's in trouble." Nabiki, who had sat
down in the living room to finish her meal, simply pointed
to the dining room. Ukyo nodded her thanks and hurried back
there where she was greeted by shock. "Wha? Ranchan?"

Ranma glared at Shampoo. "Go 'way. I love Akane. See?" Ranma
punctuated her statement by kissing Akane full on the lips.
This snapped her out of her daze. Ukyo and Shampoo fainted.

"Ranma?" Akane asked evenly.

"Yes love?"

Akane's mallet appeared in her hands. "You pervert!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After Ukyo and Shampoo had their fight and went home,
everything settled down. Akane went to her room as did
Nabiki, Genma and Soun started a game of Go with Soun
randomly crying, "My daughter's a lesbian!", and breaking
down into tears, which gave Genma the chance to cheat.

Kasumi had dragged Ranma up to her room and set her down on
the futon. "Ranma, Ranma, Ranma" she said. "I'll let you
get some rest."

Ranma woke up as Kasumi slid the door shut. She sat up
painfully and rubbed her throbbing head. "What hit me?" she
groaned. She remembered finishing off the ramen and then she
blanked out. Her memory was a blur but she could vaguely
recall being hit by
Akane. "What'd I do now?" she complained.

She rubbed her lips and remembered kissing Akane. "Oh
geeze" She said. "Akane will kill me." Ranma sat up and let
the sheet fall away from her and realized that she was clad
in only a bra and panties. She quickly covered back up and
blushed. She hoped that no one was looking in.

Slowly, she changed into boxers and her normal outfit. Then
she rebraided her hair and grabbed her backpack, and flung
it at the dresser.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Akane sat on her bed with her arms crossed, grumbling to
herself. "What was that jerk doing?" she said. "Heno she
kissed me. On the lips in front of everyone too. I'm never
going to live this one down."

She heard a thump come from Ranma's room and curiosity got
the better of her. She stood up and went to investigate.
When she got to his door she pressed her ear up against it
and listened carefully.

"That was the stupidest idea I've ever had." Ranma said.
"She will never forgive me for that. And I did it for her
too."

Akane pulled back surprised. Ranma was doing something for
her? What though? She slowly slid open the door and watched
Ranma pack her stuff.

"I mean, she said that she wanted me to be a girl. I was
just giving her what she wanted." Ranma paused. "But
noooshe has to hit me. Well if that's the way she's gonna
act, I'm outta here."

Ranma picked her stuff up and turned toward the door,
running straight into Akane. "Get outta my way." Ranma
noticed that Akane was crying. "Akane dont cry. Geeze, I'm
sorry."

Akane grabbed the shorter girl in a hug and began sobbing
into her shoulder. Ranma hesitantly wrapped her arms around
her. "It's okay Akane. It's okay."

Akane looked into Ranma eyes and shook her head. "No, it's
not. You were trying to give me what I wanted and III'm
sorry Ranma" she said, her sobs renewed.

Ranma set her backpack down and soothed her fiancee. "No, I
am. I didnt need to do this to you."

Akane looked at Ranma again. "R-ranma?"

"Yes?"

"I love you." Akane said. "I really do. Are you okay? Ranma
wake up."

Ranma startled awake. "What the" she mumbled. She sat up
and then immediately layed back down. The head ache was too
intense. "Where am I?" she asked. She opened her eyes and
saw Kasumi looking over her.

"Akane hit you again Ranma. You are in your room." She said.
"Are you okay?"
Ranma tried feebly to nod. "Uh huh. My head hurts though."

Kasumi smiled. "Good. I'll let you rest then." She said as
she left the room.

Ranma rolled over on her side. "Why does Akane only say that
in my dreams?"

A single tear rolled down her cheek.

End Part 2

Arrghh! Why does this always happen to me?! I dont want to
make this a three-part fic. I have to though, so I can
organize my ideasagain. Hope you enjoyed it though.
