According to standard FFML procedure (as outlined in the Guide to
Really, Really Good Fanfiction), there are three possible standard
courses of action you can choose from when this happens:
1) Make long-winded speeches about how you are right and they are wrong,
and how if they'd had any sort of taste whatsoever they'd have
appreciated your greatness.
2) Start on a campaign to annoy your critics so much that they'll just
keep quiet next time. For example, you could bomb them with hundreds of
messages saying, "Does this bug you? I'm not flaming you!"
or...
3) Try to figure out WHY the people didn't like your fic, and see
whether you can learn anything from it that might be useful in the
planning and writing of your next one.
A word of caution about attempting this last strategy... some people may
consider you a wimp.
