First of all, I'd like to right now  publicly apologize for my mistake on the
whole age of Misato thing, if only to stop the hordes of people mailing me
with corrections. 

I was wrong. I'm sorry.

IMHO Misato & Shinji wouldn't surprise me.  Not because of the 
 cultural aspect, but because it would make so much sense.  Think
 about it for a second; Misato and Shinji are both rather needy
 people, emotionally defective in many ways...It would be interesting
 if someone would explore the effect of them becoming latched onto
 each other, in more ways than one (physical as well as emotional).
 
 It's really not that farfetched.

Actualy, it almost happens in the canon itself. Remember after Armisael (Angel
16) attacked, and Rei II died, when Shinji was lying in his room staring
blankly up at the ceiling, and Misato came in, said "This is all I can do for
you now." and put her hand over his? Based on Shinji's reaction, and Misato's
later internal monologue, one can tell that this was a DEFINITE sexual
advance.
  

 Oyeah, another thing.  Just what the fsck kind of name is "Zeppelin?"
 That just occured to me after I read Robyn's post of birthdays...

Asuka takes it from her mother, Souryu Kyoko Zeppelin. And it's a perfectly
legitimate german name; I believe that zeppelin's (the big airship-things, not
Asuka and Kyoko) themselves were named after the engineer who came up with
them. I'm not sure, though, so don't quote me.
