Well? Do we?
Akkkk...
Now if it had just been that I would fade frm my current life as if it
had never existed (or possibly *IT* became the fiction...) Well, I'dd be
tempted...
Even if it was a George Baliey-less Frank Capra Nightmare to those who
stayed...
think about that...
What if your friends found you missing one day... they searched and
searched and finally they 'sort-of" got back to ordinary routine...
They rent some anime and ...there you are....
What do they do?
What can they do?
And what if they actually can do something?
Do you want them to?
And then there is the "soul-less." issue.
The walk home was dark but I cut through the park anyway... after all,
what could hurt me?
She stood in a pool of light cast by a flickering streetlamp.
At first I took her for a child but then...I saw her eyes.
She was young I guess, at least in body but her eyes held decades and
perhaps centuries.
Her dress - more like a robe, was short and it's whiteness accentuated
the ivory of her skin and the red ribbons around her waist and one leg.
"Shimna." She said. "Soul-less one. Why do you tarry in this world?"
"You've got it all wrong." I raised my hands in protest.
"I think not." She said and a blue fire began to burn in her right
hand...........
or.
"I can't." The young woman looked to be on the verge of tears.
"I have made a promice this is true but Kami-sama would never stand for a
Goddess to live with one who is empty of spirit."
With Y.Y.H. at least I'dd probably have a chance to "regain" my soul but
somehow I think the process would suck.
Without a soul.. how could you feel anyway?
I've always had this pet idea that remorceless psycopaths with no sense
of right or wrong have "dammaged" souls and because of this probably don't
stand a chance.....
I know all New-Age-y and all that awful stuff...

Well? Would you take the bargain?
Naw.....
Now maybe for 3/4 of my soul (if the rest would sort of "grow-back"
after a while....
Check out "Desert Dolphin" in the Oxford book of Japanese short
stories....
for yet more Angels on earth and of course Murder Mystery in Gaiman's
Angels and Visitations.
I'm told there is a story within the story in this and for some obtuse
reason I can't see it...
I want to say "peter pan" but I don't think that's it.
Any ideas?
