Greetings, folks.

Well, I've gotten many responses since I posted Chapter One earlier this week (not as many as with "Vacation", but a surprising number), and they are definitely mixed.

On one hand, my prereaders (all non-FFML) voted thumbs up, with various minor changes suggested.

On the other, the FFML responses I've recieved are (with one exception) thumbs down and/or major changes suggested.

Hmm...

<sigh> I just don't know.  I like the idea, but (at the very least) Chapter One needs to hook people more (thanks Bert), and the main idea of the story needs to come through faster.

I'll continue this privately, after I get some of my other projects out of the way.  If anyone IS interested, let me know.  Later on, when I've nailed it down and finished it (except for necessary revisions), I'll bring back the new Chapter One and see what sort of responses I get then.

Thanks for the C&C, esp. Gary Kleppe and Bert Miller.  You guys had some VERY good comments/suggestions about different things.

<sigh> I guess it just wasn't meant to be...
