This argument pops up every couple of months or so.  It's old and it's
annoying.  But...

Before I actually _saw_ some of the later manga, some of the people from
this list had me believing that hammers appeared exclusively in anime.
I don't know if you could say that she uses a hammer _extensively_ or
not, she does use her fists/random objects a lot, but it is used.  Part
of the problem with hammers in fanfiction is that a lot of it seems to
indicate that only Akane uses them.  That's definitely not true, at
least not in the manga.  The hammers do often appear out of nowhere,
unless everyone in the series has some degree of hidden weapons skill.

(I really like the "Two Ranmas" storyline from Volume 35... Ranma
hammers the copy of female Ranma, the copy tries to hammer Akane, Akane
hammers the copy, Ranma proves how vain he is, Kunou proves how demented
he is, and Ranma gets beaten up by Ryouga!)
