Hiya!
Well, having just recently discovered this FFIRC thing, I'm kinda
interested in maybe checking it out this weekend. Never really done any
internet chatting before, so it might be kinda interesting; besides, I
kinda miss my writing circle from last semester...
It is a nice thing to have a few heads to bounce ideas off of, or just
to pal around a bit with. Primary reason for FFIRC's founding was this
became very hard in the lot of noise generated by 1000+.
Thing is, I don't have a real IP, I just do it through my free
dumb-ass school account. That is, I e-mail via PINE, browse with Lynx,
that kinda crap. I'm not too savy with this stuff, so how would I get
this kinda thing up and running?
As gary pointed out there are some options.
Even if its impossible for you to get chatting with us, GT and I have
made it still accessable. Joining our mailing list and sending a
fic/story across it usually means it gets reviewed by a gorup of around
10 people every Sunday at the meeting Gary mentioned. We carry logs, and
can send as much or as little of the conversation/review as you like.
and during the week before/after the meeting, you can email c&c to our
list too.
(though it is more fun to be chatting)
I dunno if this is off topic for the ML -- it _is_ directly about
writing (thats what the FFIRC is for, right?), and I'm probably not the
only one lurking who's just found out about it and doesn't know how to get
on...
:}
I try to remember to remind everyone here every now and again about the
FFIRC, and just as a reminder, we're a chat group for fanfiction, but
mostly anime stuff. (not that others are unwelcome)
if you have any questions about the FFIRC, email me.
