Of course, maybe this isn't worth doing in the first place; in 
which case, I'd like to know that, too.  But it seems Key (the
series, not the girl herself) is much like Greenwood, popular
enough to command readership, but sparse enough to preclude
writers from takling it.  Any discussion on that?

Personally, I'd like to see you continue it. Though my knowledge of the 
anime Key: The metal Idol is sparse, the idea is interesting. I haven't 
seen the anime (though it won't be for long) the idea might also be used 
for Rei in NGE, Rei experiencing emotions but finding them too difficult 
to bear that she too might retreat back to her emotionless state. 

I also tried experimenting using that idea in several fics. Turning 
other people, androids or pokemon ^_^ to humans. I'm still working them 
out right now, I hope you have much more success than I'm having.
