I've tried this...actually, I tried asking how one could contact Lackey
directly. For reasons that are probably obvious, Baen will not give out
such information, but will forward mail or email to her. Their address
is Baen Books, PO Box 1403, Riverdale NY 10471, and their email is
jim_baen@baen.com. I'm planning on sending a letter with a SASE (the
chances of recieving a reply are probably greater that way). We'll see
what happens.
The SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) might NOT be such a good idea,
Erik.. after all, if it comes BACK to you, it might have her mailing addy on
it. Granted, she wouldn't be required to put her return addy on it, but I'm
given to understand that some postal offices are beginning to refuse mail
that comes in without either a return address or a bar code. (It's done in a
desperate attempt to reduce the increasing, and bloody well staggering,
amount of dead letter content in the system)
Not that I wish to discourage you from trying it, I'm all for it. You just
might want to be prepared for Baen refusing to forward an SASE to her. Too
many authors are finding themselves the latest victims of cyberstalking,
these days. It seems to be moving down the social food chain.. from
politicians and movies stars, then to singers and rock stars, now it's
gotten down to authors. Wonder where it will go from there?
