I disagree. He's never been shown thinknig anything like this in 

the

manga.

Bobby- Maybe he's not shown to act like this is anytime in the manga 

but 

it wouldn't be entirely out of character for him to think like that. 
Ranma is a pretty insensitive person.

  What comes to mind is when he asked Ukyo if she loved him.... 
  (that was worth the riot of laughs, though)

Now, I know plenty of instances where Ranma and Ukyo have exhibited 

the

relationship I described above. I don't know of any instances where
they've acted like "best friends" by any meaningful definition of the
phrase.

Bobby- I disagree with that, they are childhood friends after all. Also
he 
probably doesn't _have_ any other friends so Ukyo would win the best 
friend label by default.

  I won't get into this (I still think it's one of the subjective 
topics). However, I think it's safe to say that Ranma may think he can 
get away with more things with Ukyo than he would with Akane (the one he 
really cares not to upset-- although that's never stopped him before)-- 
he's never thought of her (Ukyo) too much as a girl (for the most part), 
rather always thinking about the old Ukyo without considering the one 
right there.
