But the chinese names of Shampoo, Mousse, and Cologne
are all pretty much agreed upon as Xian Pu, Mu Tsu, and
Khu Lon.

Uh oh... don't get me started on *this* one.... :-)

For the record, the "agreed upon" names you list above are fanfic
conventions, introduced by Richard Lawson because he thought they
sounded more authentically Chinese than the canon versions.

For the record, I didn't think they "sounded" more authentically
Chinese. The syllables I chose *are* authentic Chinese names
(although Gary does point out that I mix romanization schemes, prolly
due to the various sources I researched). In my research, I never
came across authentic Chinese names that matched the canon.

Also for the record, I only researched Shampoo and Mousse. I didn't
research Cologne because at first I didn't plan on "translating" her
name (since she was dead). Then I realized I needed to, and came up
with "Khu Lon" on the spur of the moment. That was simply sloppy of
me, as it matched neither the canon nor any authentic Chinese names.
