Put some effort into it. I'm assuming anyone who takes a serious
effort in writing any fanfiction will endeavour to write as decently
as possible. That leaves only one variable left, the degree of friction
between two storylines an author wishes to mesh. The more challenging
the integration, IMHO, the more interesting and respectable the
work.
I see. So you're saying that whether a fic approaches its topic
seriously or humorously isn't connected to how serious an attempt at
writing it is? If that's your point, I follow your logic; otherwise, I'm
confused again...
