that's the Tokyo Tower, a broadcast tower in Tokyo that is 
literally a dead-ringer for the Eiffel Tower. It shows up in a GREAT 
many 
anime that are set in or have scenes in Tokyo, especially Magical 
Knights 
Rayearth.

My mistake.  I wasn't aware of the existence of this tower.  I've never 
seen Magical Knights Rayearth.  In that case, I do agree that it's 
incredibly unlikely for Ryouga to cross oceans without knowing it.  I 
apologize for any confusion I may have inadvertently caused.
