After reading one of the new bet stories (I can't remember the name, but in
it Ranma seems to make every girl but Akane pregnet.) This just popped into my
head. It was going to be part of a story like "The Mouse That Roared", but
I've already got too much to do.  If someone actually has a use for this feel
free to use it.

SAOTOMA

Population: 879

Location: Saotoma is a small island nation about 200 miles off the coast of 
Costa Rica.

History: The island was first known as Isla Sorna, and was unocupied until the
1920s
when it was broght by a German mining company. In 1985 this mining company
leased the island to the company InGen. InGen used the island for a cloning
factory, making cloned dinosaurs until 1990. InGen then went bankrupt, the
plant was shut down and animals allowed to roam free. For seven years the
island remained undisterbed, execpt for some small expaditions in 1996. Then
in 1997, a warrior/adventurer by the name of Ranma Saotome came to the island
with some 'friends'. Taking a liking to the island and it's 'playful'
wildlife, he decided to move in.
Two years later the new island nation was renamed Saotoma after the founding
father. Settled by a group consisting of mostly Japanese, with a few Chinese
and other nationalities mixed in, Saotoma is Central America's only Japanese
speeking country.

People: Due to a national pysical fitness program that is second to none, the
average Saotoman is usually very lean and healthy. For reasons unknown, male
childbirths in Saotoma are very rare. With 75% of population being female,
unattached male visiters can expect a very warm wecome from the locals. Most
Saotomans are of Asian or Eurasian apperance. Although rare in most other
Asian countries, red hair is common among many of the Saotomans, paticularly
among females. Blue eyes is another common trate. Vistors to the island may
note that many of the Saotomans look alike. This is said to be proof to the
legend that Lord Ranma truely was the father of his country.

Imports: Saotoma's imports patroluim products, raw materal, and medical
supplies.

Exports:Saotoma's exports include technolgy, soy beans, and trained
volociraptors.

National Animal: The Tyrannosuarus Rex, the image of which can be found on the
Saotoman flag and the national seal.

Army: Saotoma has a standing army of 200. A reserve of another 400 can be
called up to defind the island. The national weapon, martial arts. Although
considered primitive by most countries, the Saotoman army has won the only war
it has ever fought. This happened in 1998 when the Costa Rican military
invaded the island, to reclaim it and destroy the dinosaurs.

Air Force: Unlike it's army, Saotoma does mantain a state of the art air
force. Origanally the 801st Air Bats Tactical Squadron of the JASDF. The
pilots moved to Saotoma, and were previded with new top of the line combat
aircraft by Nabiki Tendo Inc. and Mishima Heavy Indistries.

Navy: Except for a few coastal patrol boats, Saotoma has no real naval power.

Space Force: With close ties to both the Jurie Empire, the Galactic Police,
and several other galactic empires, Saotoma matains a small, but very
effective space force. This space force consist of 3 warships and 6
transports.
