I think it deserves pointing out that the manga is full of
malleting. It seemed especially common in the later volumes.

  Tell me one. I can't think of any. Better yet, tell me which later 
volumes. 

It isn't nearly as common in the anime, probably because,
believe it or not, the anime is more serious than the manga.
The manga got pretty damn silly at times.

  ...is this the same Ranma 1/2? Shouldn't that be the other way around? 
(The anime never got as serious as the Ryu Kumon story, where someone 
actually DIED. Also, the anime's the one with Martial Arts Handwriting 
and every other martial art under the sun, too, with Villains of the 
Week aplenty; how can the manga be sillier than the anime?)
