I think I'll skip this rant for a minute, and just put my $0.02 in.  
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is my understanding.

The problem is that Sasami is EIGHT YEARS OLD!  

At least in Eva, Shinji, Akuka, Rei, etc... are over the legal age in 
Japan, which, last I heard, was thirteen.  Same goes for Ranma 1/2, 
Sailor Moon, and Rayearth, among most others.  Eight is probably below 
the legal age in every country on this planet.

Excluding a few isolated tribes, of course.

People, people! We're talking about an *anime* *fanfiction* *lemon* here!

Let me explain what I mean by this statement by concentrating on the three
operative words here:

Anime - Excuse me? Since when did people start using the words 'anime' and
'propriety' in the same sentence? Anime, hentai most especially, does not
have the greatest track record when it comes to being 'proper'.

Fanfiction - Fanfiction is in that limbo between 'legal' and 'cart him/her
off for violating intellectual property rights'. If all the creators and
all the companies decided to lay the law on us, we could all get carted
into jail for our devotion to their stories! And you're worried about a
lemon involving an apparent eight-year-old?

Lemon - Well. the tag [Lemon] tends to be placed on the subject header in
order to avoid offending the less... depraved, open-minded, whichever you
prefer. The subject matter on these kinds of fics will sorta... kinda...
tend to pull some hang-up stings here and there. When I say hang-up, I'm
talking about things that offend or disturb, like sex involving underaged
individuals, premarital sex, incest, your favorite anime girl/guy having
sex with an annoying new character, plain sex itself, stuff like that.
	For example, I have a hang-up string labeled 'Rape'. When it gets tugged
at by a fic, manga, or video, I'll get disturbed. Sometimes I'll
uncomfortably shift in my seat - in the case of a few h-games - and
sometimes I'll have to turn away, close the book, or leave the room - like
in the case of those scenes in the book The Stars Dispose and in Fushigi
Yuugi. (Note to the Scriviner: I read up on Shinto temple maidens - 'Miko's
don't HAVE to be virgins, and - if kabuki theater is to be believed, are
often not, usually due to rather frustrated priests. Does the knowledge of
that change anything in your understanding of what happened to Yui?) 
	But I digress. Those hang-ups DO exist, and in order to add further
disclaimer and/or warning to potential readers, the tag [Lemon] is up there
in clear monotype. You got offended by sex that qualifies as statutory rape
in 'any' country around the world? Surprise, surprise. You read a [Lemon],
and you weren't prepared for something like that?

I'm not defending the fic. I'm not defending rape (shudder) or pedophilia,
heavens, no. I'm just saying that when you see the tag [Lemon] on an ANIME
FANFIC, you'd better be ready for the truly offensive, especially when the
subject also contains the tag [Dark].

But then again, a lot of the stuff posted on the list nowadays is
offensive, tag or no tag.

And do you know why? 'Cause T.R. said so.
